28ZComeback
I found a few photos of He.70Ks in Hungarian service 1938-1940, and they show a mottled scheme, particularly on the tail surfaces. I have found no such profile or drawing that shows such a scheme, and the wonder if it was an aberration? Thank you in advance for any information. (I have attached a wiki article- the mottled schemes are halfway down the article). Thank you again. https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Heinkel_He_70_Blitz Edited February 20, 2021 by 28ZComeback
JWM
I am not expert on that but interesting in it. At least one He 46 was painted in mottled scheme (F.322, 1943), this is apparently re-painted machine with white crosses, not arrows. Ju 86K (B.348) has a camo with high demercation line and mottles (a photo in Hungarian booklet from series "Modell extra"). Do 215 (F.707) has mottles on RLM 65 some undersurfaces (other infos from J.Railich, Z.Lalak, W.Bączkowski, M.Murawski, "Sojusznicy Luftwaffe part 2".Books Int. Blimpyboy
Do you think this could be a mottled (or generally uneven) overspray of the segmented scheme? http://ourairports.biz/?p=6114 (about three quarters of the way down the page). Otherwise, this additional shot of 403 suggests some kind of mottled-like finish: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f1/Heinkel_He-70K_típusú_távolfelderítő_repülőgép._Fortepan_26460.jpg And, for some other Hungarian He-170s (He-70Ks) : https://fortepan.hu/hu/photos/?tag=Heinkel+He+70 and http://www.avia-info.hu/talalat.php?Ujtipus=817 and http://www.repulomuzeum.hu/Adomanyok/HidvegiZoltan/HZ_2/HidvegiZoltan_2.htm and http://bsyst.uw.hu/fekfeher2.html and and https://makettinfo.hu/forum/image.php?img_id=543713&size=full#image_543713 Edited February 21, 2021 by Blimpyboy 1
TISO
One of the reasons might be april 1941 war against Yugoslavia. Moreover, here http://www.avia-info.hu/talalat.php?Ujtipus=817 in individual history it is said, that F403 crashed on 9.04.1940 killing the whole crew...
