Please count me in! As my father was on a Meteor squadron (XI Squadron RAF in the early sixties) it would be very rude of me not to build a NF version.

Thanks!

Matt

Looks like were doing good folks, hopefully we can maintain the numbers to stay competitive.

Looking good so far as you say Dennis.

How many votes are we thinking we’ll need? 50?

If memory serves for the last few years its hovered around 60 votes for the cut-off. Though thats also when we had four weeks to vote ? Im not sure if thats changed maybe @Enzo Matrix can answer that ?

It has changed.   We had a series of votes on how GBs would be managed in the future.  One decision was that the Bunfight would only last for two weeks.

Somehow I missed saying “Sign me up” for this one and I’ve already voted for it in the Bunfight!

If it gets up it’ll have to be a Rareplanes Mk 8 (that is if I can find the much neglected “Vacuforms” Box) in memory of @Graeme H who built it way back in the early 80s.

If I can’t find it it’ll have to be either the Matchbox kit (I do know where they are!) with the Aeroclub Conversion (I don’t know where it and my other Aeroclub stuff are) or the Airfix boxing of the MPM kit (which I do know where it is and will also be the “easiest” option to build!).

Either way

“Sign Me up please!”

Congratulations Dennis

First place in the STGB poll

:partytime:

You need to PM @Enzo Matrix about collecting your winners medal, usually there is a lavish black tie awards evening with a red carpet and limo to get you from the hotel.

But I'm not sure what he's got planned this year

Cheers Pat

I believe so Dennis, and as they are currently looking for a new James Bond, there's never been a better opportunity to dust off that tuxedo 🤵‍♂️ of yours  !

Don't forget vodka martini shaken not stirred 🍸

Brilliant. Just flippin' brilliant. Almost a year to go before the start of this GB? Oh, good grief. Does anyone believe, even just for split second, that I am going to have the self control not to buy more Meteor kits for this GB over the next eleven months? No chance.

Yeah Im trying to figure out what Im going to build ? Ive considered both the Airfix 1/48 and Special Hobby 1/72. But my brain is drooling over the HKM 1/32 kit.

Congratualtions Dennis in getting this into the 2022 GB. I have a hectic first half of the year so the Oct 22 start works well for me.

This is another 2022 build I am really looking forward to. I recieved the resin bits and decals from Red Roo to do the U Mk.16 or U Mk.21 conversion of the Airfix 1/48 F.8. Which ever subject I finally choose, it will be resplendent in red and white.

Adding my congratulations on getting Meteors onto the GB schedule for 2022.

I've got an Airfix 1/48 Meteor F8 (scanned from Jet Age's real F8) in my stash.

I was asked to build this Special Hobby, Gloster Aircraft company 'plane, for Jet Age  -  during the bunfight.

There could well be further build requests.

Originally planned for the 'Outside my Comfort Zone' GB, this 1.48 scale 1940's Chingford Model Aerodrome Meteor is now looking for a home. I can't think of a better place than here.

I'm fascinated by the early days of aircraft modelling and have wanted to build a decent wooden solid for ages. It looks like that is finally going to happen.

I won't be building this actual kit, the collector in me would have a fit! I'll be making copies of the parts and transfers instead. Likewise, I wont be using the powdered paints provided. I'll copy the colours and use substitutes.

Being 1.48 scale means the parts are a decent size for making copies and for the actual building as well.

I've made a total of one wooden aircraft so far, a 1.72 scale Skyleada Me109. That one tested me a bit and the results are sort of 109 looking, if you squint a bit. Hopefully this latest attempt will turn out better.
