Hi, :D

The renovation work on our building have been postponed for at least six months, and the plan have been reversed.
So I'll be able to continue work on my builds for at least a year from now.

I'll continue on my Tornado's here in the normal WIP section.
And with the postponement I'll also be able to participate in a few more GB's this year.

Old thread.

Hi all. :D

It's high time I took some care of my ongoing double Tornado builds.
When the GB ended last year I lost interest in them and concentrated on the Africa GB and my MiG-17 instead.
But if I'm to allow myself to enter in both the F-16 STGB and the Fancy French GB's these two must be done by then.
And so they'll be.

So yesterday evening I sat down and took out my folder of Tornado decals and took out Hahen decals black walkways.

The first of 12 decals done.

And then I started from the nose and will move aft.

At this stage I noticed a slight silvering around the panel lines.
So I thought it was best to leave it there, and I put on some Micro Set on them to see if the silvering goes away.
If not I got some stronger stuff I can use.

Hi all. :D

I've now done all the black walkway line on the Götterdämmerungs Tornado.
And I think I have got rid of the silvering I had at first.

I thought I had a nice and smooth finish, so I didn't cut the Hahen decals in bits to remove most of the decal film.
That was a bad choice and it was what caused the silvering.

So on the rest decals I've split them in two or three parts and cut away most of the decal film, and the results are much better.

I hope to do some more decaling on this one during the week.

Hi all. :D

I've had a fantastic Ascension Day long weekend.
Wednesday was a halfday at work, so we came to the cottage midday on wednesday.
And we had fantastic weather.

And what better way to relax after the drive from home, but with a cold beer in the sun.

Soon followed with some smoked shrimps with aioli.

And of course some bbq for dinner.  @reini @trickyrich

A rib-eye steak for the Mrs and a Wagyu burger for me and Axel. :eat: :tasty:

And when your off work for some days it's OK to have a glass of porter in front of the tv.

Since the weather was still sunny dinner was cooked on the BBQ once again.

Some pork sirloin with onions.

Which was served with some ratatouille and roasted potato wedges.

But all weekends come to an end.
And home again I took some time to continue with the decals.

Unfortunately is the JaBo33 sheild the wrong one, it should have a white background for an Eighties aircraft, but I didn't have one in my German decal stash.

And then I had to run through every single sheet I have to find some suitable numbers with white borders, and it became 45 + 07, that will be my aircraft.
Here's a picture of the original. https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/8160629

Then I got distracted.
We went home from the cottage on Saturday, because I had to work on Sunday.
So on Saturday afternoon I took my youngest son and went out shopping for a new TV.
We went from a 32''

To an 58'' screen.

And now can I enjoy this weeks highlights on TV, The Eurovision Song contest, and the World Championsship in IceHockey on a BIG screen. :D

Oh man, @Marlin that looks amazing and delicious! Im amazed you got any modelling done :D

Thanks Reini. :D

I've divided my passions, modeling at home and BBQ at the cottage.

That way I don't have to choose between them.  :D

I've used a mix of Revell, two different sheets from Hahen and some Italeri decals to enable me to pick a mix of red and black stencils to get the right look for a late eighties machine. Because of this every single stencil take some time to do when you have to look at four five different pictures before you decide which one to use.
But even small steps are progress.
