Hi @Mjwomack

Your Opel half track looks ideal, to be fair I think it's been very patient waiting to get built don't you ?

Best of luck

Cheers Pat

Cheers! no denying how patient it's been. It looks like everything is in the battered box, otherwise it'll be the Tauro Tank- which has a good ring to it in anywise

I still have this in the stash. The one on the right might qualify...

I snagged this kit roughly ten years ago, I remembered seeing them in Squadron Shop adds in magazines in the '70s, and wanted to see what the hubbub was all about. Not to mention that the Italians had some crazy camo patterns.

The Kawanishi is a new tool date of 1967 so qualifies for the classic Japanese kits as well.

Great choice, I built the twin tailed one a while ago.

Having had a quick glance at the GB calendar, I think I could squeeze at least one build into this one. These are my eligible kits;

20230204_142830

The F-84 I have some Bentwaters decals for, and I will probably leave this for 2024's NATO GB, so it will be either the B-57 (from 1989, so just qualifies) or Spooky. 'Namtastic either way!

I have some rare Italians machines in stash, for example:

Resin kits: Caproni 135, Breda 44 and Piaggio P 108 T (this is resin conversion for injected P 108 by SH)

Vacu sets: Macchi C.94 and C.100, Savoia SM 74, 75, 95, CANT Z 506 B (conversion set designed for C from Italeri or Supermodel), Caproni 316

I am considering also some scratch work - for example Savoia SM 66 and much smaller conversions like SM 81 into SM 73 or Caproni 311 into 312...

Besided it some injected rarities like Fiat RS 14 or SM 84 from Aviation USK/Xothic and many short runs like Fiat CR 25, Romeo Ro 57, Ro R37, Ro 37 bis, RO 43, Ro 44, Ro 41, Piaggio P108...

I will chose something suitable! :),

Perhaps the best fit into the idea of GB compromised with my plans is conversion of old Supermodel CANT Z 506 C into a transport machine Z 506 B, maybe also a double build of 506 C and B?...

Regards

J-W

I'll join in with this one, built an Esci A-4N a few months back and enjoyed it so might just build another.

(Probably get some AM decals this time though as the kit decals are fictitious and the aircraft is actually an A-4H)

Hi Pat,

there I was, minding my own business while in Harare, when I spotted this GB, which I had absolutely no intention of entering.

Then I looked at the dates, looked at my stash... I have a couple of kits started, but they are either too young or are over the 25% rule.

BUT I found, lost in a dark corner, a Supermodel Fiat CR 32. It is small, allegedly easy to build (Ah! Ah!) and seems to be ideal. And it is old enough.

So please count me in.

Cheers.

Go on then. I'm hooked. I just bought 2nd hand an Italeri MB326 jet trainer in the current boxing. The plastic, I'm sure, is of the Supermodell stable with raised lines etc so should fit in with the gb requirements. The decals are nice but it looks like damp has got to the set within the sealed box as the backing paper shows no shine. They might work who knows. Another reason for me to join in is that it's the AMI 100th anniversary this year so I'll finish it in Italian colours. So an all Italian build (I'm part Italian by birth too )

This one?

If so, then it's from 1996 and so I'm afraid it is not eligible for this GB. :(  However, it would be an excellent choice for the forthcoming Southern Europe GB.

OK. I was sure the original kit plastic was older. Oh well.

I’m with you on that one. I’m fairly sure I’d seen the old and rare (for us) Supermodel kit at least ten years earlier than that - if not longer. I would have certainly placed the original moulds as early-mid 80’s. Anyway, Scalemates has been fairly good in most instances, so perhaps my memory’s not as good as it used to be.
Cheers.. Dave

Was a bit puzzled what I might enter for this, only kit I have is already entered in the recce Gb, but seeing both the b-57 and f-84 gives me two good options, and maybe if I get lucky and find an esci f-111 I’ll use that for a f-111c conversion instead of the airfix I had acquired for that

I have the Italeri 1/72 Crusader, originally issued by Esci in 1988.

And while we're on the subject of Italeri Crusaders... I also have the 1/35 Crusader, which is a tank! :D   This was issued in 1976, back when the company went by the name Italaerei.
