Following the recently completed Classic Heller GB, which saw over 150 completed builds in the Gallery, attention turned to what other manufacturers we could look to for future Classic Group builds.

Esci, Italeri and Supermodel were mentioned so the idea formed to combine them into a single classic GB.

Therefore to celebrate any Italian produced kit first released before say 1990 (open for discussion) lets see what interest there is by helping with the following:

1. List of potential manufacturers

Italeri

Italaerei

I can't help with subjects but count me in as a builder. I believe I have some ESCI kits which might fit in, need to check those yet though

I've got this -  I'm in.

Skytrain kit, originating 1979 - according to Scalemates.

I think that everything else is vouched elsewhere.

Esci- there's a name from back in the day. Loved their kits. Also did a fair few Italieri so put me down...well not in a domestic pet sort of way though that might stop me signing up for GBs!

Sign me up! I've still got a few classic Esci and Italeri kits kicking around. Loved building their kits back in the 80s, so an excuse to build a few more would be more than welcome. Don't think I've ever built a Supermodel kit though, and don't remember seeing them either. One to research there. Plenty of scope with this one, so hopefully it will attract as much interest as the Heller GB.

Edit: Did Supermodel end up in Italeri boxes as there's a lot of familiar subjects and artwork?

Hi Steve

Not sure mate I would let Scalemates be my guide

I have a lovely Cant 1007 Supermodel bomber which would ideal in this one, however the camouflage is going to be something else !

Count me in. I don’t think the stash is overflowing with kits that would count but there’s an Italeri C-119 to start with, and I’m watching an ESCI 1/48 Macchi on evilbay.

Yes, the MB 326 kits (both single and two seat) have been reboxed by Italeri, also the Fiat Cr. 32, and probably one or two others as well.

I too have a very healthy selection of Italeri and ESCI kits tooled before 1990. Most of the ESCI are reboxes of course. So this would be right up my alley.

And me! I have several of Italeri's 80's tooled trucks.

Hi Wellzy

Absolutely, we can use Scalemates to see where reboxings ended up.

I think I have a few in the stash that would fit the bill for this Pat, both from the ESCI and Italeri stable.

I assume we are okay to throw extra resin goodies at our respective kits?

Absolutely, however we need to drum up more participants first.

Do the Classic Group Builds have to reach a threshold too?

I believe they have to make the 30 threshold but then get an automatic slot without the need to go in the bullfight.

We actually have 2 classics in for next year !

Yep, Pat's correct, the Classics just have to cross the threshold to get into the calendar.  Now my stash would be very happy if this and the Classic Japanese GB  made it across the line too!
