Giorgio N
May I suggest you also include a company that predated all the ones mentioned: Artiplast. They were active from 1963 to 1982 and issued both original kits and kits coming from various tools (Merit for example). Several of their kits are still available as were sold for many years by Smer. The Artiplast name may be little known but I'm sure many have come across a "1/48ish" simple kit of a CR.32 or G.55 sold for a fiver in a Smer box... these were all Artiplast kits. Another smaller manufacturer of the '70s was Delta 2. They only made a few kits but they can still be found. And yes, please, add me to the list! I'll try to build something suitable.
JOCKNEY
Thanks @Giorgio N I had completely forgotten about those 2 manufacturers now added. Especially Delta 2 who made the SAVOIA MARCHETTI S.55X , which I've got somewhere and should this GB be successful will be my victim of choice ! Cheers Pat
Giorgio N
Glad to be of some help Pat ! There were also some smaller "cottage industry" type names, I may put together a list if the GB gets the go-ahead. I also have to admit that with my interest being in aircraft, I have missed some companies active in other areas. One I sure forgot is Protar, a name well known among motorbike modellers: the company was founded in 1963 by Tarquinio Provini, former rider who had won 2 world championships, and continued til the 2000s. Another name is Pocher, that issued their first car kit in 1966 and is now part of the Hornby group. And I'm sure there are others in areas like figures or military vehicles. The oldest "model" company in the Country however deals with ships, although made from wood: Amati, that is still active in Turin selling wooden kits of ships, was founded in 1879 ! 2
helios16v
A little bump for this one. @stevej60 I saw your post on the ESCI Classic and thought I remember seeing something earlier that was inclusive of ESCI.

johnlambert
I've got an ESCI Mercedes-Benz 500SLC and an Italeri Mercedes-Benz 540K, both of which were originally produced in the 1970s (I think). This would be a great excuse to build at least one of those, so count me in, please.
AdrianMF
I've got four Supermodel fighters burning a hole in my stash, also an Italeri Do-24 and Hs-126, so I'm sorted for this one. I've also got the Delta 1/72 MC72 (nice?) and SMER (Artiplast rebox) 1/48 MC 72 (definitely some issues). But before you say "what would Enzo do?" I won't be building all of them! paul-muc
Protar is missing in the list of manufacturers. Mostly motorcycles, but also sports and racing cars. At the moment I am bidding for an Alfa Giulietta spider, rebox of Revell. 1

2996 Victor
Hi Pat, I was going to stick my hand up and ask if I could play, but my sole Italian kit is an Italeri Mustang I, which wasn't released until 1998 according to Scalemates Mark (sad of Derbyshire)

Mjwomack
Well, I have this By far the longest resident of the stash, Scalemates dates it to the late 1970s but I think I probably got it in the early 80s so 40 years waiting its moment. Suspect it was the original mojo evaporation. Questions Is it over 25%? As far as I can tell only the cab is built and splash of paint on the canvas. Is it all there- who knows. Otherwise, it's likely to be this https://www.kingkit.co.uk/product/tauro-military-1-35-104-fiat-3000-mod21 No nothing of firm or tank, but I've got a bit of a crush on light tanks at the moment. I was looking at the Supermodel range but @AdrianMF's experience with one in the Blitzenbuild has brought out how demanding and high maintenance supermodels are! Otherwise, it'll be something by Esci Of course the hosts can rig adjudicate by declaring the mule and old donkey and ineligible! 1
JOCKNEY
Hi @Mjwomack Your Opel half track looks ideal, to be fair I think it's been very patient waiting to get built don't you ? Best of luck Cheers Pat 1
