sampanzer
I am going to try and get this completed over the next few weeks. I had previously primed the faces but then packed them away again due to house moves. Anyway, fingers crossed

I have read a few books on the subject and am in awe of the bravery of the soldiers and the utter stupidity of the command and to be honest, the thought of putting a landing force on the peninsula in the first place. The landings and latter reinforcing had nowhere to land and had to scramble from ship to ship then wade ashore.. Quite a few Irish Regiments were there too which hold a personal touch for me being from Belfast.. Managed to get some modelling done so pictures to follow in the next day or so.. sampanzer
Well, its taken some time, moved house just before Christmas and there's been a lot of painting, but mainly walls, doors and skirting boards, not to mention garden work.. I am getting old! Some progress has now been made on this figure. First splash of colour on the uniform, all except his braces. Also started on the plinth he will finish up on, plinth is resin from MDP and painted to have the look of wood. sampanzer
Progress report.. Close to finish with the figure and base. Had to repair damage to the hat, a chunk broke off the rear when sanding but filled nicely. Base is almost complete. Details left to pick out now, buckles buttons and finish the skin tones. Hopefully finished by Friday
sampanzer
Just about finished, first figure I have done for a couple of years, so I need to practice more on the face, but I am reasonably happy with this one. I have to get my fiancé to check the colours regularly, I am colour blind, which can be a hindrence! Anyway, once varnished final pics will go in the gallery
