I just found this.  Maybe it's been posted before but I have searched/read a fair bit over the years about the F-111B and never saw this pic before.  https://cdm16694.contentdm.oclc.org/digital/collection/p16694coll109/id/23545/

That website also has a pic of 151973 after its crash.

 

BTW, I am building the old Revell TFX as 151970 at rollout and have some questions:  what colour were the leading edges - gloves, wings and tailplanes?  Do we know?

They were coated with Corogard, which is an aluminized epoxy paint. Also see http://tailspintopics.blogspot.com/2012/01/corogard.html

Thanks for the link. There is a lot more photos there of other Grumman aircraft, first time l have seen a proposed F-14 AEW aircraft.
