Hi

    Trying to find any notes but I can't

So

   Did the RCAF in canada change from dark Earth to ocean grey/ mixed grey in Aug 1941, or did they at a later it a later date ?

   Looking into research for a hurricane at boundary bay circa late 42/ early 43

    Cheers.

I would say no Jerry,....... for the Hurricane`s anyway. The Kittyhawk`s at Boundary Bay seem to have worn the RCAF version of the DFS, alongside others in USAAF OD/NG colours, but I have never seen it on a Hurricane,.... apart from a restored one which Iwould say is pretty dubiously finished.

Hope that helps mate? Hopefully an expert will come along with an all singing and all dancing answer quoting  Air Ministry reference number, paint references etc but that is my thoughts on the subject anyway for what they are worth!

And some Hurricane`s and Sea Hurricane`s;....

And a later one, ,.. 5825 of 13 (PR) Sqn,.... note the later C1 Type roundel;

Hi Jerry. I was involved in restoring Hurricane 5389 which served at Boundary Bay in the time frame you are interested in and researched the colours for it. These are the chips that we ended up mixing the paints to:

5389 had evidence of repainting. It left the factory in the Canadian equivalent of the Temperate Land Scheme but later had the brown over-painted with grey and yellow wing leading edges applied.

Let me know specifically what you are after and I'd be happy to help.

EDIT: As noted by Tony, the Hurricane in the last photo, displayed at the Reynolds Museum in Wetaskiwin, Alberta has incorrect colours for the time. Here's an interesting pic of the two birds side by side:

Hi

    Many thanks to you both for the detailed info.

   I have no specific hurricane in mind yet, I just fancied doing a localish hurricane model

That OD/NG P-40 looks nice, might be a future project for me

   Cheers
