lunch box Posted March 4, 2021 Author Posted March 4, 2021 (edited) So I am about to spray white Edited March 4, 2021 by lunch box 3
lunch box Posted March 19, 2021 Author Posted March 19, 2021 Hey folks, I have sprayed the whole 747. I had several problems with the tamiya gloss white X-2. It never fully dried. It remained soft till now and the masking tape kind of softened it. So it is my first build since 2016. Don‘t be to harsh. 2
janneman36 Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 That doesn’t look to shabby...👍 About the paint reacting to the tape I am inclined to think it is otherwise .. When these types of paints are not completely cured the solvent in the paint reacts on the fact that it doesn’t breath and will give the reaction seen on your model! I even seen it happen with just some plastic foil over the paint ! Keep on going with this one as I think it will be a fine model in the end. cheers, Jan
Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Looks fine to me, we all suffer paint issues with our builds (me a lot! :D)
Alex1978 Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 Great, another queen gets build.😎👍 Its looking very good. Regarding the paint; If you spray too much at once,it can happent that the paint wont dry a long time. I had the same issues once, when using Tamyia sprays. If you give only light coats, and let the paint dry for 15-20 mins between the coats, the paint will dry a lot better.Repeat these steps until you reach the desired look. For the last coat, you can give it a bit more paint. After that, let it cure for 2-4 days. Then the paint should be rock solid. It does also work with other spray paints.
