Big In Japan - Classic Japanese Kits GB Chat

Recommended Posts

Anyone fancy joining this one ?

Given the range of subjects that qualify it should hopefully appeal to people who haven't tried a Group Build before, so please feel free to spread the word.

Cheers Pat

Mmmmm... A few bits in the stash and a quick sweep shows lots more on auction sites that are pre-'90, or even pre-'80 for initial release. Go on then, add me to the list.

I'm up for this too. Please add me to the list with a classic Tamiya build.

Is 'Turning Japanese' too cheesy a name for this group build?

'I really think so..'

Sorry - touch of the Vapors...

We actually just finished a "Turning Japanese" GB.

Well, I should say the GB finished.  Some of us are still working on our GB projects.....

Hi,

I'm surprised that I haven't put my name down yet. This GB proprosal must have come up during one of those sensible periods when I thought about finishing what I started first.

I also love Japanse kits and 1990 is like yesterday for me.😉

Cheers, Stefan.

  • Enzo the Magnificent changed the title to Japanese Made Classic Kit GB 18 Feb to 19 July 2023

I see @JOCKNEY has already negotiated a 10 day extrension- it's never too early for a ten from Shirley Enzo the magnificient, because I think the offical end date for this is 9 July. Determined to get my 1:35 Cessna up and running for this, so I might need that extension, because it comes with 1:3 scale rivet details

Yes, I have started on my 2023 GB calendar already and it's crowded.

Do we have a catchy name for this GB?

Not yet, suggestions gratefully received.

Initial thoughts were something based on this

I like it!

The name fits the GB fine - but I'd be damned to click that link and listen to the bloody earworm again, I got too much of it back then... but all the girls wanted to hear it, so what could any proper teenage-boy do then but play it if... etc

V-P

Edit: Just a friendly reminder, that all those sweet Hasegawa Ju 88 kits were released well after the cut-off year of this Classic GB, so there's no need to spare your kits beyond the Junkers 88 STGB about to begin just day after tomorrow
