Hi all

Had anyone had any experience with the different types of Zap CA glue? Have done some research and it seems they are great for glueing clear parts and painted parts without destroying the paint.

cheers

It's blooming expensive.  I use Siroflex SX  Medium Viscosity for the most part, which is cheap as chips and doesn't shrink like some glues do. :) I've also used it on canopies, but you have to make sure that the fumes are dispersed well, or it'll accumulate on anything, not just clear parts.  That's why I usually us GS-Hypo to secure the canopy, then CA to blend it in with the fuselage.

I use PVA (plain ol' white glue) or acrylic (e.g., Gator's Grip or Zap Formula 560 Canopy Glue). You do need to let them dry overnight.

BTW, acrylic glues are best for surface bonds between PE and plastic or resin. The glue's flexibility prevents bond failure due to different thermal expansion rates between the PE and plastic or resin.
