leeroyb
Hi, been working on the Revell 1/16 VW Samba and had my first serious mishap since restarting. On the rear axel these parts don't glue together and pushed onto each other so can swivel. Anyway, one side wouldn't fully go on, and in my over eagerness I snapped the thin connector. Then when trying to remove the end I snapped it again. I've had a quick go but not sure if it's recoverable or I need to order spares, any suggestions? klubman01
Depending on the diameter of the rod, it may be possible to drill into each broken end and pin with a short length of sturdy wire. Bit of cyanoacrylate glue should hold it together with sufficient strength. Trevor
Spiny
I'd second trying this, particularly if you already have a pin-vice. Any wire of suitable thickness should do the trick in terms of holding it in place and will give it extra strength compared to just creating a butt joint. PatW
I'm with the others, drill and pin to recover the build.
leeroyb
A very belated thank you, been selling the house so this went on the back burner, however Revell came through and sent replacement parts in the meantime
