Back to the fun-was out of town for a few days and got a decent block of build time today to finish the turret

I did not build up the gun breech or other interior details because the hatches will all be closed, but Dragon gives you a nice, fairly detailed bit of a turret interior. Other than tracks, tools and some minor details, this is getting close to completion.

This has been a fun build so far.

I shot a dark Panzer Grey basecoat last night, but my airbrush got clogged before I could finish, so no photos.  I cleaned the airbrush this morning and shot the mid and highlight coats. It’s nice to have some paint on this one.

Good afternoon. I was just wondering if you have been able to make any more progress with your build?

Kind regards,

Stix

I put it aside to finish up a PzIV that I just completed and have a set of tracks inbound that I was waiting for, so should be back to it very soon, especially since it’s well underway.

Moving along to the finish, I added some filters to give the monochromatic finish some life.

Oilbrushers are new to me-I’ve only used them once, a few weeks ago, but I like them so far.  Will see how these look when everything dries and settles out.

First round of filters applied.  These will blend in and be toned down more after I add and paint what is left to build then apply markings, but I had some time today to work this in, so I figured I’d make good use of that. The thinners are not quite dry yet, but I won’t have time to take pics later.

Made a little more progress today with lights, tools, vision blocks and other small details.  Other than the tires, tracks, rear stowage bin and markings, this is pretty well complete.

Fantastic progress! That really is coming together beautifully! The tools and other extras really bring it to life and those tracks look very smart too!

Kind regards,

Stix

Wanted to see how the Archer dry transfers would work out and unfortunately the shield, diamond and circle ones got messed up in application, so I had to scrape off, repaint then reapply the triangle one, which was my last choice, but the one I was originally planning to do.

I added a lid to the stowage box and basecoated it before assembly.

Just about there.  The build is now complete and I just need to paint the tracks and tires, some small details and touch-ups, then re-do the filters and weathering.  I’ll most likely put a base together for this one before I call it complete.

You have really done a beautiful job with your Pz.III. Very impressive. I'm looking forward to seeing it with all the finishing touches in place.

Kind regards,

Stix
