Dear friends,

Following the Rafale sets I'm glad to release a small set covering the EF2000's auxiliary exhausts, both the wing root one and the tail ones which are missing in Revell's kit:

  • arnobiz changed the title to Released - 1/48 Eurofighter Typhoon exhausts BAM48005

I'm very excited to announce that the main exhausts are now ready for order :) In addition to the exhausts themselves a set of self-adhesive guides is provided to help with the kit correction/rivet-engraving. As always the objective is to make this an enjoyable, stress-free experience ;)

  • arnobiz changed the title to BAM News - quite a few new 1/48 items coming up: Rafale A/B/C/M, Eurofighter, F-16C Barak

Well I've been busy recently:

Rafale A (Heller)

  • Seamless intakes
  • M88 and F404 exhausts (two sets: two F404s for the early test phase, F404 on the right and M88 on the left for the M88 test campaign)

50948470548_7d5cd1c839_z.jpg

Rafale C (Revell) M88 exhausts

Eurofighter (Revell) seamless intakes

F-16C Barak tail art masks (Two references, one siwed for Tamiya the other for Kinetic) so the sand-coloured markings are the same shade as the camo :)

All should be available by end of week 🥳

wow! looks great!

did I read correctly?  - intakes for the Heller Rafale A? :)

Yes you did, intakes and exhausts :) The intakes are nearly ready for casting, the exhausts are finally OK after much trial and error - stay tuned!

Great!

Are the A nozzles different detail wise compared to the serial ones?

Or just size to fit the Heller kit?

I sized the A for the Heller kit and when I checked with the Revell kit they turned out to be the same diameter :) Some details change though which is why it will be two different references ;)

  • arnobiz changed the title to BAM News - Released Rafale exhausts (For A and B/C/M)!

Two sets are now released!

Late Rafale A with two different engines; SNECMA M88-2 on the left, early GE F404 on the right (notice the early F404 differs from the legacy Hornet's nozzle as it does not have the small cuts at the end of the petals)

This sets includes decals for the tail markings specific to this version :)

The Rafale A intakes are released and ready for order!

  • They bring much more detail than the kit parts - the Heller kit offers a blank wall as intakes
  • They are a drop fit, just a tiny bit of sanding of the kit parts is required (3 minutes worth of work in my test :)) compared to massive sanding/filling required with the kit parts, as shown here

These will combine nicly with the recently released exhausts (early and late) to finally give this otherwise nice kit of an awesome prototype justice!

looking great again!

are those nozzles cast, or 3D printed? in some of the flameholders it seems that you can make out the 3D printing patern... could possibly be sanded from the masters before casting

The nozzles are 3D printed as some detail, notably the nozzle petal brackets, could not be cast without making multiple parts (like Aires does). The pattern is totally invisible to the naked eye after a coat of primer don't worry (I would be the first to be super annoyed!)

Hi all,

First of a series of BAM sets to update the 1/48 GWH, Revell and Academy kits, the F-15SG set for the GWH kit will be released by end of week. It will contain all parts required to update the plastic kit:

  • GE F110-129 exhausts
  • Cockpit sides antennae
  • Updated tail booms
  • Vertical stab top antennae
  • Upgraded Front Instrument Panel
  • Upgraded Rear Instrument Panel
  • Large GPS antenna behind the airbrake
  • Left wing antenna
  • Tiger Eyes IRST
  • Extended CFT pylons (front/middle/aft)
  • CFT small scoop

Sets for the Revell and Academy kits will follow shortly as I adapt the GWH set to ensure fit 🙂 Time to get the great Miliverse decal sheets 😄

Sneak peek into some of the parts:

Instrument panels - this is the prototype for which I used an already painted IP as basis, the final versions will have clean MFDs 😉

Comments and suggestions most welcome,

Considering the quick development from the 3D-printed colour decals cockpit sets (see Quinta Studio, Red Fox, Eduard etc.) is it still really interesting to design resin complex - and less detailed - cockpit front and lateral instrument panels? That's the question.

Good question. My take on this is simple: 1/ I want to offer one-stop complete sets 2/ As a modeller I'm not prepared to pay 25+ euros for a paint job I can do rather quickly on good quality resin and even improve with Anyz decals so I want to give this option to others as well

I'm in no way minimizing how impressive 3D-printed colour cockpits are though, to each their own and it's good to have options :)

By the way I worked with Caracal on a decal sheet to go along with the update sets and we are happy to announce its upcoming release!

Hello,

A small (but tedious) project I was working on the side is a proper landing gear bay for the Kinetic 1/48 MQ-9 Reaper, I'm happy to announce it's ready 🙂

https://bam-models.com/product/bam48013-1-48-mq-9-reaper-landing-gear-bay/

The actual Reaper LGB looks like this:

The original parts have neither the proper outline nor correct interior volumes:

Here is the revised part - all that's involved is cutting the kit lower fuselage using provided cutting guides and installing the drop-fit landing gear bay interior part 🙂 Please note that the refuelling ports aft of the LBG are also provided in the set 😉

  • arnobiz changed the title to BAM News - Released: 1/48 current F-15 C/E/EX/QA/SA wheels and F-15I upgrade/update set

Our latest releases are two sets for 1/48 F-15s:

1/ F-15 C/E/EX/QA/SA current wheels - all Eagles have received these wheels and no kit provides them

2/ GWH F-15I update/upgrade set - The GWH kit instrument panels are wrong for a Ra'am, the set also includes the very recently added large GPS antenna aft of the speed brake 😊
