PlaStix
Welcome to another Britmodeller Armour STGB. This time we're focussing on Panzer IIIs and any directly related AFVs. This GB is open to kits from any manufacturer, in any scale, the only limitation being that it must be less than 25% complete (approximately) when you start work on it in your build thread. Aftermarket parts and scratch building are acceptable, indeed they are very welcome as it's always cool to see what's out there and to learn new modelling techniques. If you want you can also include figures, stowage and possibly even a scenic base. Finally - the kit or model you build must be based on a manufactured vehicle not one that never made it past the drawing board. There are plenty of Pz.III variants to chose from. Paper Panzer IIIs can be built in the 'What if' GBs. From the chat thread: The Panzer III was a medium tank developed in the 1930s and saw extensive action in World War II. For this STGB, kits built could cover all versions from conception through to all the variants produced and can be in any scale. However - No 'What-ifs' or versions that we’re not actually manufactured please. Series model variants were: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L, M and N. Also - based on the Pz.III chassis: StuG III - Assault Gun Panzereobachtungswagen - Observation tank Panzerbefehlswagen III - Command tank Bergepanzer III - Armored Recovery Vehicle - PzKpfw III chassis Sturm-Infanteriegeschütz 33B - Self-propelled heavy assault gun Flammpazer III - Flamethrower Tank Plus the Soviet SU-76i self-propelled gun which was based on the chassis of captured German Panzer IIIs and StuG IIIs SleeperService has also let me know about the SG-122 - where the Soviets used the German Sturmgeschütz III chassis. Only 10 of these were completed. Duration: 6th February to 30th May 2021 Host: PlaStix Co-host: Ozzy The usual Britmodeller Single Type GB Rules apply: • models must be no more than 25% complete when entered and should be based on a vehicle that was actually manufactured • participants must establish and maintain a 'Work in Progress' thread throughout their build, complete with photographs • participants must post a maximum of five photographs of their completed build(s) in the GB Gallery • a Poll (open to all members) will be held at the end of the GB, based on the photographs posted in the Gallery • the GB threads must not be used for the purposes of buying or selling anything If you have any questions please feel free to ask in the chat thread or PM me or Ozzy and we'll do our best to get you sorted.
