Tamyia's 1/48th A-1J US Navy

Hi folks.

I started with the begenning of the year, this simple and beautiful kit, Tamiya's USN Skyraider.

I preferred not to add so muc aftermarket, only the seat belts, a prepainted ser from Eduard, I guess for fighters from WWII era. I repainted the straps in grey green.

I only added some details in the sidewalls down the side consoles, a friction knob of the throttle sticks in the left and a circuit breaker box in the right.

 Some details in the left side of the armour plate behind the seat.

I added some wiring in the engine and piping and tubbing in the wheels wells

I primed the cockpit with One Shot primer and airbrushed with mig and Revell acrylics. I used the kit decals for the front console.

Hi Folks.

I applied white primer, AK laquer, later I preshaded with raw sienna liquitex ink.

Later, I painted with Tamiya white and Vallejo light gull grey. The twelve 250 lbs bombs was painted with olive drab XF-62 and lightened with khaki drab XF-51, both of tamiya acrylics. The antiglare panel was painted in anthracit grey, from revell acrilics, number 36109.

Then, I varnished the entire kit with Micro gloss for apply the decals, some were a bit thick.

Finally, I applied a few coats of Micro matt varnish for the last touch of dirt and leakages form the engine over drop tanks. I discretelly accentued the panel lines with oils.

The big exhausts stains were airbrushed with anthracite grey and raw sienna ink.
