Kingfisher Over Troubled Waters

Recommended Posts

Oh dear,..... call it character building,...... it could have been a lot worse,...... if you have all the parts,...... glue them back on! Looking forward to seeing the finished model.

Well, she's back together again.

Plenty of touch ups to do but I got the rest of the PE on and primed.

I'm debating whether adding the two bomb racks but thankfully all the damage was reserved to the bottom although I hear something rattling inside the cockpit and I'm  hoping its not the .30 cal.

The decals are being applied.

I also airbrushed the underside in the affected areas and hand painted the blue on the roundel before glossing.  Looks much better.

2 Years in the making probably $200-$300 all in.  Ol cutting edge sure did me in.

That Uschi wire I just cant get over how much it adds to the finished project and sooooo easy to deal with.  Would not use anything else.

This kit sure gave me a ton of grief and alot of curse words were used in the process.  Dropped it twice.  Had gloss coat issues and mounting that bloody float was probably the worst part.

I have another which I'm thinking will either be Chilean or Russian with another cutting edge cockpit set to go insided, Ill stick with the Edo float next time and I will certainly apply what I learned here to the next.

Thanks for letting me putting this in the group build as I know the percentage complete was riding that 25% line but in the end I think it was worth it.

Thanks for joining us and building it, it needed to be built and you did a great job even with the problems it gave you.

You`ve done a lovely job on this one and what a good save at the end,....... I do like this scheme on the old Kingfisher and you`ve replicated it superbly.
