Serkan Sen
Hi everyone, Based on my kitbash using Revell/Zvezda Su-27SM and Su-33 reported here in detail, I have launched a new topic to report my progress on a specific T-10M aircraft, namely T-10M3 (703). Here is the base kit from Revell and the resin parts I have duplicated for this build: and the 3 view drawings for this build: Now I can start this build... Serkan Sen
Here are the required kit fuselage halves and resin parts to be assembled together: I started with the upper half as it is very straightforward: The resin forward fuselage part fit well with the kit rear half. Of course the resin part has to be glued using superglue with care to prevent damage of panel lines. I have started to glue the straight x cut at main wheel bay area and then glued the spine area from inside to prevent overflow of CA glue. To replace the lower half forward fuselage section first the kit part has to be trimmed: To remove the forward fuselage I used XActo razor saw and cut through the main wheel bay front wall: Again the resin part was glued with CA to kit half and the lower half modification (except tail boom) was completed too: Next step will be to glue the fuselage halves together... Daniel John Shanks
I am so excited for this beast to finally be made in all its glory... if only I could get my hands on some of those resin parts! Watching with massive interest Serkan, love your work and keep it up! 1

Thanks Daniel, I think this build will be very quick compared to others, especially quicker than "Flankerstein": Serkan Edited January 26, 2021 by Serkan Sen
Serkan Sen
Before gluing fuselage halves the nose wheel well was glued to its place: Also intake parts were assembled together: The wing upper surfaces were also glued. Next step is to assemble intakes and tail boom... Serkan Edited January 26, 2021 by Serkan Sen

Serkan Sen
The tail boom was removed using razor saw: After installing the tail boom the intakes were first glued with CA to resin part only: When CA fully dried the rest was glued using ultra thin Mr. Cement which welds the plastic parts by filling the gaps with capillary effect: As you can see the flaps were glued too. The nose and cockpit tub were mounted to airframe using scotch tape temporarily. Serkan
Nikolay Polyakov
Excellent work, Serkan! It’s a top-notch surgery engineering. 👍 As I see, you’re having serious interest in modelling the late T-10 series airframes; do you have some plans to build this (an earlier) one: 3

Zorglub
Great, this is one of my favourite Sukhoi. I had started a transformation of Zvezda's Su-27 SM to try to make this beautiful bird. My project has been on pause for 3 years. My researches have found different variations on the livery: the last one is the one with the 350 displayed. It was also presented with the radome in grey, then in white, with and without the 350... Then the 703 was assigned to the Russkie Vitiazi with the withe, blue and red livery. Well, you won't be surprised if I tell you that I will follow this topic very assiduously? 😄 Want to see it in flight? I will build this bird with white radome and tail number 350 as you can see from my drawings in the first post of this thread. Serkan
Serkan Sen
Here some more progress: The MLG Uplock fairings were cloned from Hasegawa Su-35 kit and glued on the model. The single piece nose part was a bit undersized. Therefore I decided to rebuild it from scratch in two pieces; the nose cone and nose section separately: Next step will be the new nose cone... Serkan Sen
The panel lines seems to me not so good, therefore I decided to rescribe the details. For this purpose I did a drawing for panel lines: Here is the fit test: The drawing was printed on Orafoil masking paper: I used the carving guide tape which I recently found in Amazon: Now I can work on the nose cone. Serkan Sen
The nose cone has been finished and cloned: And here both parts are together: The IFR probe was placed inside the nose part to avoid additional molding and casting such tiny part: 😁 Of course I tested if this little part can be detached without breaking it, and yes it works... Serkan Sen
The new nose assembly was glued to airframe and looks very good: Here is a comparison of the old and new nose parts: The nose cone contour and bulkhead diameter now in correct size and shape. Also an insert was added between nose cone and bulkhead. Here are some close views: Now the aircraft is ready to prime. Serkan
