Ted
My second entry will be two Australians in a little trench, the officer looking through a periscope and the sharpshooter with his pipe. Great figures from ICM. Here's the kit, same as the one I got the Chunuk Bair Kiwi from. The figures went together pretty well, the skirts of the jackets are made up of three thin pieces, really helps them look more realistic. I tried cutting away the ends of the officer's sleeves, and had to add a bit to his hand to extend his reach a bit.
LDSModeller
Hi Ted, Nice start My favourite quote from the ANZAC Movies, is the comment made by the Australian Troopers already in the Trenches, and the Australian Light Horse arrive as reinforcements "Gday boys, wereaya Gee Gees ?" (apologies to pure Strine-ists ) Look forward to more Regards Alan 1
Ted
Had to look up Gee Gees. I cut a block of cherry for the base, then glued in toothpicks to hold up a foam trench wall.
Ted
Foam added and then covered with Minwax stainable wood filler. I hadn't used this before but I think it's my new favourite basing goop.

Ted
Thanks Alan, just saw that trick in the last episode of Gallipoli. Pretty clever. I got the base coats done on the fellas.

JOCKNEY
Looks great Ted We dont see enough figures in Group Builds. Best of luck Cheers Pat
Ted
Thanks Pat and Colin. I mostly finished the figures. Still have to do their puttees, boots, weapons, and touchups. The groundwork on this is going to be pretty basic and the putty texture does all the work.

trickyrich
I do love this build and is great to see someone doing such and important event! My grandfather was a Gallipoli veteran, he was a Sgt with one of the first New Zealand brigades that landed at Gallipoli. Unfortunately (or fortunately) shortly after landing there he was seriously injured and was evacuated and ended up being medically discharged due to injuries. He never talked about the event at all, which was the case for a lot of the veterans. 1

I managed to finish this scene and put it in the gallery. Thanks to you all for the comments and support along the way.
