THEscaleSHOW
Hello all Today I would like to present you my elephant, which is made by Tamiya just like Stef's model. However, I decided to use Friul tracks, because I think they fit better to this big giant because of the weight. The Zimmertit I have treated with damage and some parts like the front armour of atak not used. I am not really a Zimmerit fan and therefore less is more 😁 Have fun! MD processing of the Zimmerit edges modified clamping screw dremel tool as lathe pistol port was closed by the crew some simple modifications for better details a lot of flame cut marks and weld seams my welding tools the rear and the jack with more details Ciao e a presto 😎
Stef N.
Very nice indeed MD. The extra details add a lot. Will follow along and blatantly steal some of your ideas.😀👍

THEscaleSHOW
Hello all today a short update from the Elefant. Priming with Tamiya Fine Surface Primer has worked very well-all surfaces nice and smooth 😅 Next step is to practice camouflage painting on an old model 🧐 Stef's tank is a good template for it 👍 Have fun! THEscaleSHOW
Good morning to all I tried painting the 3 tone camo yesterday and I have to say it was a total disaster 🙈 I tried the RC 3 tone camo set and the base coat also worked. After that I wanted to spray the green spots, but despite thinning and low pressure my airbrush only made trouble. I don't know why, but the paint didn't spray correctly. After 4 spots, the airbrush suddenly spat out a big drop of paint and half the base colour was ruined. Many know this-total disappointment and the question of how to save the model. So first of all, 2 Cuba Libre and the yellow completely new on it 😎 For whatever reason, I then said to myself: better not historically correct, but happy! So I cut stencils and applied them with Tamiya green and brown until 2 o'clock this morning 😴 Square camouflage patterns are no fantasy and somehow it fits the shape of the elephant quite well. I'll look at the pattern for a few days and see if I still like it afterwards 🤔 Tomorrow starts the PZ. III GB, which creates distraction 🤗 MD the pattern reminds a bit of german fighter planes from world war I 😁

My airbrushing experience was really not fun and I wondered what Ammo from Spain must have mixed into the paint 🤔 ⚗️ 🧪 💩 Well, at least our models don't look the same this way 😁 MD
Stef N.
I had a similar experience with my varnish. It sprayed well, then stopped, then a great splodge came out. I think a bit of old residue had detached from the bottle and clogged the brush. I am veering to using the more potent lacquers now as this is less of a problem than acrylics. THEscaleSHOW
yes, that could have happened. Probably car painters filter the paint like coffee before they fill the airbrush!? Laquers are certainly better, but they also stink a lot. Then there's trouble with the wife 😁 1
THEscaleSHOW
Hello all Today another small update of the elephant. The basic details and tracks in acryl are ready. Before the clear coat I will paint more of the Zimmertit chipping and one or two other small things. After a long look I will leave the camouflage pattern as it is and I am curious how the model will look like in the end 🧐 I think one will like it, the other not - it's all a matter of taste 🙂 🤮 This week I will start building the Infantriegeschütz for the GB. See you! MD
