Homebee
Italeri is to release a new tool 1/48th Lockheed-Martin F-35B Lightning II kit - ref. 2810 Not a bad news considering the only other available 1/48th F-35B kit is the Kitty Hawk one. Now we'll just need a better F-35C. Source: https://www.italeri.com/uploads/news/AY8p8Mc4VebT1GVJ5SVhR0wRFuvMlyG6nbu5dgSD.pdf Box art V.P. keithjs
Lets hope it doesn't come with the massive oversized RAM panels that their 72nd scale one has. Mind you I think all available kits seem to be blighted with those don't they?...

SAT69
I'm hoping they follow with an F-35C. And since the latest F-35s seem to have a massive reduction in RAM panels on top, perhaps they could represent those with decals rather than molded into the plastic. I'd also like to see a 1/32 F-35C. You get the impression the F-35C is my favorite of the three versions?

I think referring to it as a kit is pushing it, 'kit' implies the parts are intended to fit together. I hope Italeri can improve on that. I'm glad to see a bit more colour on the box art though, that will help sales. With many younger model-makers who will see this as a 'normal' aircraft about that can only be good. But please Italeri make a good job of it. 2

The Academy 1/72nd scale F-35A/B has raised RAM panels, but they are very subtle. I think it looks good. If they keep the RAM very subtle on this kit, I think it will look convincing. But it's Italeri, so I'm not holding my breath! Edited January 26, 2021 by B.sin

NavyWessex
I like the addition of the extended air step on the port side, although the RAM tape still looks heavy and the wheels are heavily bulged like their 1/72 offering.
JFM148
I like what I see....!! Glad to see the kit includes the weapons . Really nice Box art BTW !!!
exdraken
That looks rather nice! And the ominous beast mode included as well! and a gun pod Decals ( nice schemes!!) say GBU-31 in the weapons bay... shouldn't those be max 1000lb bombs in there on the B?

keithjs
Why oh why do they insist on the oversize RAM panel outlines. It just makes the whole model look so 'chunky'. Correctly coloured decals would be more than adequate.

These thick panels are about the scale size of plywood.
IT_Man
We have a UK Price! Suggested RRP of £75.99, though these guys offering it for £65. https://www.models2u.co.uk/contents/en-uk/p16247_F-35-B-Lightning-II.html Does look pretty good to be fair, might take the plunge.
Robertone139
Oh yeah! Italeri's dreaded RAM panels pneumatic hammer rendition again. The (fairly) recent change to the RAM paint application should have made it so that decals in a different sheen than the rest of the plane would suffice. Another disappointment from Italeri, but yet again why would you have expected anything different.
Ad-4N
Yeah, no. My hard earned won't be buying this. Terrible RAM panels.

A bit of sanding should take the edges off a bit maybe? Already have the KH kit and many extra's for it, so will wait for reviews. 2
jaw
Can it be built with all the fan panels unextended and the exhaust not sending thrust down? John
JFM148
To be fair and balanced, RAM panels are a BIG issue in the Meng kit as well (only alternative in the market so far). For those who "don´t like" the Italeri kit (not yet released). Some basic modelling skills fixes the issue (in both kits). My two cents. 2 1

V.P. Thanks Homebe ! Interesting. But on the plastic sprue shots, I am searching for parts that will enable to present this new tool F-35B ''all closed'' in CTOL (Conventional Take Off & Landing) mode ?!? Please share photos of the instruction sheet pages as soon as available. SharkOwl
