Yup, with an aluminium underside. 1 hour ago, occa said: @WorstKaasScenario Boom, that color photo comes as a full surprise, you can even make out the two topside colors even if there's a low contrast. Do you have more of these gems around ? A bit back in the thread was stated that there was no information on the wheel bay of the CW-21B, but in this thread https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/curtiss-cw-21-demon.8991 a drawing of it was posted. Again, I can't vouch for it's authenticity, but it would be a weird drawing to create as a fake, and the poster there is as far as I'm aware a good and reliable source. The source of is also posted, but lumped together with different images so I don't know what's from what, with a bunch of them not available on the internet. Might be a lead. Also when compared to what is visible on photo's it seems accurate. Of course this picture is easily findable with a quick google search, so it might already have been known. Ignore this, I was wrong. Other than that I don't think I have any spicy information on this plane. I'd put my bet that it's actually an undercarriage of Ki-84 Hayate. The only drawing of CW-21 undercarriage there is this one: https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/attachments/escanear0008-jpg.93485/ Might be that there were two articles in the same magazine and someone took all drawings for CW-21B? dragonlanceHR
Well, there is also this contemporary illustration: 3
jimmaas
That's a good drawing for the CW-21B (they caught the ring-and-bead sight hanging from the top of the fixed canopy), but one item missing is the sliding canopy support rails on each side. The fuselage tapered sharply and the canopy needed rails with less of an angle to the rear, so they stand out quite a bit at the rear. 1

Blimpyboy
I for one, really can't wait for the CW-21s to come out - it has to be one of my all-time favourite aircraft. For the longest time, I've been contemplating butchering a WSW CW-21B to make it a CW-21! The Dora Wings kit does the work for me! The next challenge will be working out the 'petrol blue' colour which was allegedly used on the first prototype (NX19431 - any input will be gratefully accepted...).
jimmaas
Petrol Blue is a blue-green. Although there are variations, one example is here

jimmaas
Very enthusiastic about this kit. No idea where the small transparency bit behind the canopy comes from - it does not appear in CW-21B photos, but that can easily be blended/painted over. Move the join away from the canopy edge to make blending it in a breeze, they've done the same at the front edge too. Going to be a pain to have an open cockpit though. Will that stop me buying one.....of course not
