Harry Callahan
Hi friends - So after the 104 got a light postshade with XF-64 i am happy now. - On the pics the yellow tone dont comes through, in reality its really dark yellow, not so bleeched as what the image shows. I used different background, white, blue and black, but i think the white balance is overwhelm. After postshading ok, next step is the masking job, that i can paint the red colour

Ok some imperfections, overspray but not a drama, easy to repair, i also painted the radar covers in XF-55 and some weathering with Vallejo 71.023 HEMP. Next step is, a clear cote 12
Chief Cohiba
I'm in a bit late, I'm fraid, but will follow nevertheless. I have the same in my stash and already started, but will build an early Luftnagel. 🙂
Harry Callahan
Ok wish you good luck with the build, the assembly is a pleasure. Sorry it calls Erdnagel not Luftnagel.

Sorry it calls Erdnagel not Luftnagel. Many thanks, so far it's a true pleasure. I did use the Löök dash, really eases the thing. Must post a few updates soon. And thanks for the remark, I thought first it's a Luftnagel and then consequently you need an Erdmoebel - must have mixed up something! 😉

Harry Callahan
Hello comrades So i just want show to you what i have done last night and this morning ( before i go to work ) First i applied a gloss coat with AK Glossy Varnish, let it dry overnight and this morning i applied a panelline wash with oils Schmincke Raw Umber mixed with Black. On the pics it looks partially overdone, ( macro shots ) but in real it looks fine for my taste, i wanted a used look. The next step will be a panelline wash at the black areas, i will use a light grey or buff, will see what looks better. see you.........

Harry Callahan
Good day friends Well, i already see the finish line...........after i applied a light grey wash on the black areas, i applied the few decals ( first time i dont need apply thousands of stencils at an aircraft ) After drying i applied a Semi Gloss Varnish of MARABU, which i thinned with Mr. Leveling Thinner. Due to a small carelessness, I broke off the end tip, but easy to repair with an Evergreen piece. next step is, to assembly the landing gear Edited February 19, 2021 by Harry Callahan
Josip
One detail that immediately pops out on closer inspection are the overhead loop handles on the ejection seat. Try to replace them with something thinner.
Harry Callahan
Yes at first i was doubting about the thickness of the loop handles, now i dont like to replace it, ist too fiddly, the next 104 will get thin wires.

Retired Bob
That looks really good Werner and thanks for the tip about the fragile tip. As you know I'm still busy with various tanks but I have my Dutch Starfighter and the Xtradecal markings, I'm just waiting for a few bits and pieces like the CMK cockpit with C-2 seat, the LOOK instrument panel, Aires exhaust, Resi-cast wheels and Master pitot tube. They should be delivered in the next few days.
Harry Callahan
@Biggles87 Thank you so much John, i like it too, but the next 104 will get a camouflage scheme again. @Retired Bob Thank you so much too Bob, youre welcome, yes its really fragile and thin, be careful. Wowww a lot of aftermarket stuff, i am excited to your build.😉
