Alex1978 Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 (edited) My first completed airliners in 2021. I started them somewhere last year and worked on them on and off between other projects. The main problem was to get decals for them as Heller airliners come in the odd scale of 1/125 and their 737 kit is long out of production. I found some nice liveries on f-dcal,which even arrived in an acceptable time. I have now 3 of Heller's Boeing 737,the first one was built in Lufthansa colors, mostly airbrushed and completed with decals from my spares box. Its a pity that Heller never reissued this kit as they did with most of their other airliners. Its a very nice model with good shape and the fit is, for its age, quite good. I always liked the old Luxair livery, and because I had been to Luxemburg a few times as a kid,I should have an aircraft of Luxair in my collection. I also have some old Heller Airbus A300 kits, one of which I also plan to build in these colors. The RAM 737s were frequent visitors to our swiss airports, together with their 727s. So when I saw this decal set available for rescale, the decision was easy. Paints are Gunze gloss white and for the engines and slats I used Super metallic Chrome from Gunze, with a gloss black base coat, and different metallic shades for the inlet and exhausts. Grey is Testors aircraft grey. Sealed again with Gunze Premium Gloss varnish. Sadly,I had to find out that Gunze stopped production of this great varnish for whatever reason😳😢,so I picked up all remaining stocks in my local hobbyshop☺...cost me a fortune, but its worth it. Enough text,on with the photos Alex And with one of my critics...he seemed to be in the mood again today😉 Edited January 20, 2021 by Alex1978 23 1
SAT69 Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Beautiful models, especially the Royal Air Maroc version. At least your "critic" isn't playing with them ... or does he? 1

jean Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Hi Alex, absolutely brilliant builds!!!! Congrats! All I know is that if I tried this stunt with one of our cats, the result would be a foregone conclusion... Give me the name of your taxidermist. This cat looks almost alive! Great show!!! JR

Skodadriver Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Very nice build Alex. Heller didn't do themselves any favours by choosing a peculiar scale but the kits were pretty reasonable. I built the Boeing 727 about 20 years ago and liked it. Good to see the cat taking an interest. He's very like the cat we had when I was a child. Dave G 1
Turbofan Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Hi Alex, Great 737's! We don't see many Heller 737s on RFI so something of a novelty. Good choice of liveries Luxair is definitely one on my list as I remember them well at Heathrow in the late 70's and early 80's and I do like the RAM livery too, again another from my spotting days although I remember 727s were more frequent visitors. I wonder if Heller are ever going to rerelease any of their 1/125 airliners. Cheers, Ian 1
Abandoned Project Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Your cat staring straight into the camera is freaking me out! Great 737s BTW, very nice. 1

Just a pity that the 737,L-1011 and A300 are not getting a rerelease as it seems. They are really good kits. It took me quite a while to get hold of all those Heller airliners. The L-1011 and 737 are very hard to find.

Amongst themselves they make up for a nice collection, but thats it. I built the 727 a few years ago too.Its quite nice, only the nose is somewhat off.Took me some time to fix it. 1
