Abandoned Project
Would it be possible to build a Lancaster B.VI from a B.I/III and a Shackleton? The main difference I can see is the engine nacelles which look like those on the Shackleton. Most likely going to use Revell kits to keep the costs sensible. Graham Boak
I think that they are bigger on a Shackleton, but prepared to be proven wrong.
Ed Russell
Give Blackbird Models a prod to re-release their conversion kit. https://www.blackbirdmodels.co.uk/avro-lancaster-mkvi-conversion-72-1783-p.asp The after-market Merlin engines I have look a bit different to the Shackleton engines. leyreynolds
Ed is correct the Shackleton cowls look similar but are not identical. I think the B.VI cowls are the same as those on the Lincoln.
Ossington 2
This might help, from "Lancaster Classic Aircraft No. 6 Their history and how to model them" Neville Franlkin and Gerald Scarborough, PSL, 1979. The kitography is way out of date, but still a worthwhile read for anything Lanc. https://imgur.com/a/5lMgyiF https://imgur.com/tdKxFeB
Gooney Fan
Good evening Another alternative could be to try a set of AIM-Transport Wings TWC72019 Argonaut engines available through Hannants. They seem to be 99% identical to the Merlins on the Lancaster B.VI GooneyFan

woody37
I've got a Blackbird set and certainly recommend it if you can get hold of one. Need to get mine built someday!
