And of course Italeri gives their wrong colour indications.. Versions B, C and D for sure had upper surfaces in Nocciola Chiaro 4 and rings/spots in Verde Oliva Scuro 2, colours that are quite different from the ones in the "Serie Mimetica" shown. Lower surfaces were in Grigio Azzurro Chiaro 1... that at least is close to FS 36307 as proposed

It might be worth it just for the spares bin and decals. Might even be good for a Whif build It's an absolutely perfect rendition of the little-known RAF Sabre FGA5, I think you'll find; as an FJ-2/-3? Not so much... 1

Yes, the information on Stormo is still valid, except for the information on the cockpit colours, where the information available today is more complete. But I've commented enough on the Verde Anticorrosione in the last couple of years... 😆 The two charts in the page you linked are both valid... but it's not immediate how to convert the information or one onto the other. This is important as for example the MRP paints are matched to the Vito Charts while most modelling resources use the CMPR classification... Nice choise of variants. Sadly the Italeri 1/72 scale P/F-51D is not as nice as those from Airfix, Tamiya and Hasegawa. It need lot of filler and has rather bad clear parts. And I think most modellers has bad experience from Italeri Decals... /André

PhantomBigStu
Italeri tend to overscale stencils and some markings, but aside from that, decals are pretty good. As for the Crusader reissue, if its got French Navy decals in the box that's one to pick up

Their instructions tend to follow the lines of "just stick it on there or if you really care, look it up". That P-51D might be worth picking up just to have some more decal options for the Airfix Mustang.
