Old models

Evening all. 

I have all my models that I have built in the loft in boxes. There is no space to display them in my house. 

What do others do if they don't have display space?

Store like you but I sleep on mine, they are under the bed.

I'm thinking about thinning the collection a bit. Sell, chuck and keep maybe

I recently saw an advert for buying collections of ready made kits, I think in the Airfix mag so don't throw until you check them out. Lord knows what they do with them!

I occasionally sell mine but keep those that mean something to me  such as models of aeroplanes I have flown in, certain nationalities, personal connection. All else has gone or goes. Those that I keep are stored in boxes in shed at the moment.

I keep what I have just built on top of the flat bed scanner on my desk or on a shelf in the 'office' for a while and then store them up the loft in the cardboard stacking fruit/veg boxes that you can usually pick up empty in supermarkets , layer of bubblewrap on the bottom of the box to stop them sliding around too easily and another layer across the top to keep dust out.

Thanks to everyone for the advice, I contacted the guy mentioned above and it was quite a way out of his area to collect. I decided to see what the bay could do for me and I sold virtually everything so now I have cash, space and a happy Mrs H!
