T 34/76 Tamiya "Nach Stalingrad 75km"

Recommended Posts

Hello all

Today I would like to present my T34/76 from Tamiya.

The model is quite old and simple, but as always with Tamiya it is easy to build out of the box.

I added PE grills from Eduard, an aluminium gun barrel and AFV Club tracks.
The decals are from Archer.
Painting in acrylic and oil paint.

I am trying to show that you can build a (hopefully) beautiful model just by painting and that a lot of extra work is not always necessary.

A vignette is in progress, therefore the title "Nach Stalingrad 75km".

When I'm done with that and the model is placed, I do the final weathering.

Have fun!

Nice work & nicely finished. I like the fuel stains under the tanks.

You can't go wrong with Tamiya, I recently completed their Churchill which is probably of a similar vintage to yours & was pleased with the result.

Very good. I have one of these Tamiya oldies in the stash, the T-62A. Seeing this I ought to make a start on it sooner rather than later. Which paint did you use for the green?

Hello JeroenS

First I tried the Vallejo 4 BO set, but I did not like the result.

They are very good for details, but I personally do not like the latex-like substance.
In addition, I am lazy and constantly (even with retarder) to clean the airbrush was not fun 😴

So back to what I think is the best airbrush paint: old school Tamiya👍

My mix for 4 BO (WW2): 1/3 Yellow Green XF-4 + 2/3 RAF Dark Green 2 XF-81

Just try it out - I did it after 3 beers too 😉

Good luck and thanks for all the comments!

Thanks. Same for me: I don't like to airbrush the Vallejo paints, always use Tamiya so I will make a note of your mix 👍

Hello all

Today I would like to present you my finished vignette.

The scene is supposed to depict an abandoned T 34 in the southern Russian steppe.
The sign was put up by the german troops on their way to the city.

I will add a figure in the future-but that will be a separate post.

Have fun!
MD
