The Rib Man
Ready to return to the jet age! Hasegawa F-15C. Decals from the Bullseye Desert Storm Eagles set. I haven't decided which plane yet, but it will be one of the air-to-air victory machines.
The Rib Man
Let the games begin! I am using the Aires resin cockpit set. This is my first resin cockpit, so we'll see! I spent the afternoon trimming resin blocks and started with trimming the kit fuselage. It doesn't look like too much trimming will be needed to get the aftermarket parts to fit just fine. I was worried about the front wheel well, but it is a non-issue. The Hasegawa plastic is harder than what I am used to working with lately, and I managed to chip off a piece while trimming away the instrument hood. After an intensive search for the missing piece, it is now glued back in place without any drama.
desert falcon
Parts are looking very good - happy you managed to find the chipped off part again 🙂
The Rib Man
I've begun painting the cockpit and the mysterious "bay 5". Bay 5 is looking a bit more like the backseat of a MIG-23 than an F-15 at the moment, but hopefully a panel wash will tone it down a bit. The Rib Man
Still going, but better pick up the pace if I am going to finish. Time for the big parts to go together.

The Rib Man
Big parts together and primed. I wasn't happy with the fit at first, but things worked out with a bit of putty.

The Rib Man
I will happily take the extra few days, but closing in on the finish line. Decals and stores complete. The kit canopy has a mold line right down the middle of both sections, so I will need to turn my attention to that.
Romeo Alpha Yankee
That is looking great, makes me want to grab my F-15 out of the stash and start it.
The Rib Man
Engine nozzles complete and installed. The kit came with photo etch for these, which turned out pretty cool.

The Rib Man
This guy is done . I lost the centerline stores rack somewhere along the way, and made the mistake of clearing the holes for the outer pylons. I am counting on finding the center rack at some point, and just left the holes for the outers. The little ladder isn't glued on, so no worries that it is tilted in some of the photos. Next up, French Fancy (or maybe BF 109 if I am feeling inspired).
