franky boy
Hello chaps. Just wondering if someone could tell me what colour Italian Orpheous were painted when hung underneath Starfighters? I don't think they're the same colour as the underside of the aircraft i.e. silver or silver/grey. Would a very light grey such as FS36375more appropriate? WARDOG
Hi Franky Boy, You might want to look up some Mode Decal sheets for the F-104s. If I'm not mistaken, there is some color info somewhere on one of their sheets. Hope this helps, WARDOG
Hook
These were delivered in RAL7001 Silbergrau from the Dutch factory, since that was the then current shade on the lower surfaces on our RF-104G's that they were intended for. Judging from photographs of Italian recce Starfighters, these were not repainted by the AMI. HTH!, Andre
RidgeRunner
Does this help? I took it on a cloudy day in Villafranca but I'm sure you can get the detail you need. Martin 2

Hook
You could also do worse than checking out IPMS NL's walkaround : https://www.ipms.nl/walkarounds/walkaround-overig/1472-walkaround-orpheuspod There's a link to a lovely video near the bottom as well. Cheers, Andre
meindert
note that there are different shaped Orpheus pods. The Italian pod is different than for example the one seen on Dutch jets . (the big 1/32 Italeri F-104 has the Italian type in the kit) As Andre noted, check with the IPMS.NL walk around for the Dutch one.
