Wez
Looking back through the archives I see the last What If GB we had was What If III back in 2015, so the time is ripe for another. Anything goes really, you'd have to make up a scenario to fit your but that shouldn't be too much of a problem for those with vivid imaginations... ...anyone else up for this? It could be something as simple as HMS Hood surviving the Battle of the Denmark Straight and gets its long promised refit, then there's a whole raft of Luftwaffe 1946 stuff but don't let the factual limit you. Comic strips, TV series or film inspiration, as long as it didn't happen in real life... ...but could have, it's in! 1. Wez 2. desert falcon 3. trickyrich 4. Beazer 5. Col 6. Robert 7. Well since you had to pull my home country into it, I better be part of it A what if battle btw, would by a battle won by Denmark post the Viking age My plan however, would be to build something from the air force of the Republic of Wadiya. Possible something flown by the supreme leader and beloved oppressor himself; Admiral General Haffaz Aladeen. Could it be a Mig or something French ... ?? Wez
Thanks Johnny, I'll start a list. Things from comic strips are eminently welcome in this GB. Anyone else up for this?

Anyone else up for this, let your fevered imagination run riot! Thank you Wez. As I understand it the Castro administration were so impressed at the Hawker Sea Fury's performance during the 'Bay of Pigs' incident they sought to purchase 17 Hunter FGA.9 from the UK. Sadly this was vetoed by the US and led directly to the Cubans turning to the USSR for both military equipment and a market for their exports.
Robert
Count me in on this as well. I have a plan for a British Phantom. Regards Robert
Adam Poultney
Sounds like an Avro Atlantic, I'm in. Perhaps I could even justify a 1/72 Skybolt Vulcan in camo
cherry268
I'm not going to commit at the moment but if I do depending on when it is then I would do a Desert Storm Vulcan in pink Seen one done once and loved it

Figures, I wonder what effect that had on the events which led to the Cuban Missile Crisis? 1 hour ago, Robert said: Count me in on this as well. I have a plan for a British Phantom. Regards Robert A British Phantom eh? Something based on an E/F/G perhaps? 1 hour ago, Adam Poultney said: Sounds like an Avro Atlantic, I'm in. An Avro Atlantic would be impressive too! 1 hour ago, cherry268 said: I'm not going to commit at the moment but if I do depending on when it is then I would do a Desert Storm Vulcan in pink Seen one done once and loved it Sounds good! I'd postulate it was one more move in the Great Game being played out by the US and Soviet Union; Cuba simply being another pawn that ultimately came to be one of the many losers. ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday, Many years ago I did a Revell 1/570 scale WW2 Scharnhorst, OOB. Not long ago my daughter gave me another, so I think I'll do it as the sister-ship Gneisenau. But with twin 38cm (15-inch) guns, not the original triple 28cm (11-inch). I believe these ships were designed with such a conversion in mind, and Gneisenau's was actually commenced, before the RAF gatecrashed the party and dropped big spanners in the works. But what if they missed, and the conversion was completed? I could get involved here, with DKM Gneisenau armed with six 38cm guns. Regards, Jeff. 2

jackroadkill
I like this idea. I've got a cracking "what if?" that was inspired by some art I once saw at an AEF in the 1990's. Go on then.
