dov
Hallo I am looking for accurate pictures to make this Spit. The link I found is: https://www.polishairforce.pl/dyw315zdj.html and masks from Montex: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Montex-Super-Mask-1-48-Spitfire-Mk-VB-Polish-for-Tamiya-Spraying-Stencil-K48006-/142635470575 As you see or know: this does not match. What is ok? Happy modelling
hovering
Are you saying the roundal doesn't match or the size of the "T" or something else? The roundal would be because of the type of film used making it look odd. At first glance the mask set seems ok?
Hornet133
They match as far as I can see. If you are talking about the roundel, the photo is taken with a filter which makes the Yellow appear very dark. The roundel IS as per the Montex mask profile. dov
Oh, I did not notice the probability of the filter used. I thought it is all blue! Thank you! Happy modelling
fishplanebeer
I'm sure I've seen examples and read somewhere that a certain type of b/w film used during this period caused tone reversal making the tone of certain colours seem wrong or 'reversed', particularly the red, blue and yellow of roundels? Regards Colin.
spitfire
Orthochromatic film is the culprit, showing yellow as black, see below for a discussion on the matter Cheers Dennis
