Hiya Folks,..... what a great GB this has become,.... Andy would be so chuffed! Here is my latest contribution and my second Kiwi Catalina,.... a 1/72nd Academy kit built as a Boeing built PB2B-1 Catalina  of 5 (FB) Squadron based at Segond Channel, Rabaul in 1944,.... wearing the lovely looking white and Sea Blue scheme,...... I selected NZ4033, PA-E and ued Aeromaster decals as a basis for the decals,.... although the fuselage roundel was a bit of a hotch potch!

Here is the WIP;

Douglas A-4G Skyhawk 75 Sqn RNZAF

Built from the old but still good Monogram 1/48 A-4E Skyhawk kit this model represents an ex-RAN A-4G that has been sold to the RNZAF but has yet to go through the upgrade to A-4K so is still in her old RAN colours but wearing full RNZAF markings.

Paints are from Gunze and Revell and the decals are from one of the excellent Gekko Graphics sheets.

Here's my 1/72 Airfix Beaufort mk1, shown in the markings of N1075 (XA*A) of 489 Sqn RNZAF in October 1941.  It crashed in the River Eden, killing the pilot, P/O Cyril E Horwood on 02/10/41.

This has been a Quick build of Tamiya's FAU-1A. I used several Decal sources for the makings and the only PE was the seat belts.

NZ 5277 FAU-1A shipped from USA on the 19 April 1944 aboard “USS Breton”. Assembled in
Espiritu Santo and the BOC Unit 60 on the 5th of May 1944. Coded “77”. To 14 Squadron on the 8th of August 1944.

Badly damaged in a taxying accident with NZ 5275 at Kukum Field on 17th August 1944.

Repaired and returned to service to 16 Squadron on 21st December 1944. Was with 21 Squadron by April 1945 and damaged on the 24 July 1945,

but was repaired and returned to service by September. Finally ferried to New Zealand in October 1945.

486sqn RNZAF Typhoon hybrid, Academy kit with Airfix canopy, pylons and bombs, decals by Xtradecal, Modeldecal, Airfix and Academy. Painted with Xtracrylixs and Vallejo paints, finished with Winsor and Newton Matt.

And as an aside I also repainted this RAAF Diecast Sea Fury, in the spirit but obviously not an actual GB entry

1/72 Airfix Strikemaster in RNZAF colours

An oldie & not really a goodie either but I'm happy enough with the end results, Build thread here.

The finished item against a photo of what it was being modelled on (loosely). In the end I did use the Pavla canopies & was pleased they looked alright, if you didn't look too closely, that applies to the whole thing, it is what it is though. :)

Not much to see on the underside, I'd like to have put some rocket pods on the inner pylons but couldn't find any, camo'd tanks would have helped too & of course I've cleverly hidden the one & only underwing roundel. :shrug:
