Model Mate
Hi everyone. I recently completed my Tamiya P-38 build… During the build, I used an ICM P-51B that came with the ground crew kit I used as a paint mule to test weathering and so on. Whilst it’s no museum piece, it managed to avoid becoming a patchwork of different colours and techniques too, so I thought I’d finish it off and post it here. Waste-not, want-not. It’s far from perfect, so be gentle! Paint is Vallejo model air for the undersides (very impressed; went on beautifully) and Tamiya olive drab over rub ‘n buff with hairspray for chipping on the top. Weathering with oils and pastels. The decals were torn to shreds by some school-boy error masking so had to be patch-painted with Vallejo acrylics. 23
