PS One thing that’s always puzzled me about the Wyvern. If contra-rotating propellers where supposed to counteract torque, why did it need such a huge fin?

Makes it easier to reverse park on a crowded deck.

Another fun build and your Suez stripes came out better than my only foray into that field.

Real answer: for directional stability. The contraprops move the aircraft's centre of pressure a long way forward (lots of effective side area) and this needs to be counteracted by more side area aft - hence a big fin.

Ah, the 'masking straight lines on a fuselage' problem!

Hopefully, with Mark and Bill's help, we have a solution.

Hopefully.

In the meantime we can use the 'applied in the field in a hurry' explanation :)

Thanks Kevin - that explains it, she is a big bird :)

Actually more of the not getting the masking tight when painting with rattle cans.  No airbrushing on this build.

But I use the applied in a hurry excuse.
