GTX Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 (edited) This is fantastic news. I have long wanted an injection moulded 1/48 Beaufort. Edited January 6, 2021 by GTX 1 4
JohnT Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Wrong scale its not really- just wanted to be first to say it as Truro Modeller wondered who would say it first over in rumourmonger great news 1

Wonder how this will impact on sales of the Airfix Beaufort...will people want to wait for the ICM kit? If they were in the same scale that would be a potential impact. Not with ine in 1/72 and one in 1/48 though 1
GTX Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Are there any verifications from ICM? Neither their website or their facebook page mention anything at this stage.
Ka-Efka Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Wow, after the Go 242 the next 2021 win from ICM (for me anyways) 😊
IT_Man Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Wondrr if its why the Airfix launch got delayed? Maybe they were going to produce but now re-consider? 2
Mr T Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 1 hour ago, IT_Man said: Wondrr if its why the Airfix launch got delayed? Maybe they were going to produce but now re-consider? No, the Airfix kit 1/72nd scale, not 1/48th and Airfix have much wider distribution and why should they, it has been advertised and a build shown off in Airfix Model World. Airfix are not going to pull the plug at the last minute when release is due about March, there is too much invested at this stage. Airfix have had to put back a number of releases because of the effect of the pandemic. The kits are produced in India, the decals in Italy and the boxes in the UK. None of these counties is exactly covid free and all that entails. 1
IT_Man Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 No, I meant maybe if they were also going to do in 1/48 (like Blenheim). But still from ICM is good - the kits have taken a big step forwards in the last few years.
TEXANTOMCAT Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Poor old ICM have had their thunder stolen!

Shorty84 Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 I would have bought the Airfix kit in absence of an injected kit in 1/48 but now...bye bye Airfix, hello ICM 4
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 I have an Airfix Beaufort on Order but I will grab one of these as well. I have come to like the type and have a few i want to do.
trickydicky210 Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 ICM really have upped their game Looking more likely that hey will give us a Hampden ahead of Airfix can see The news from the East in Jan 2022 might be more anticipated than Airfix 😏 3
Harold55 Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 This is very exciting and certainly a great addition to the 1/48 scale market! ICM makes great kits, this is very welcome and now they will happily get more of my money
alt-92 Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Hmm... knowing ICM's versioning track record, there may be a chance of a DAP Mk.V somewhere down the line 4

I'm prepared to sacrifice some of my blood on the Sanger kit if needed. 1
