Wonder how this will impact on sales of the Airfix Beaufort...will people want to wait for the ICM kit?
GTX 77
This is fantastic news. I have long wanted an injection moulded 1/48 Beaufort. Edited January 6 by GTX 1

The Airfix one is 1/72. This will be 1/48 so possibly little if any impact.

Wonder how this will impact on sales of the Airfix Beaufort...will people want to wait for the ICM kit? If they were in the same scale that would be a potential impact. Not with ine in 1/72 and one in 1/48 though
GTX 77
Are there any verifications from ICM? Neither their website or their facebook page mention anything at this stage.
Ka-Efka 147
Wow, after the Go 242 the next 2021 win from ICM (for me anyways)
IT_Man 44
Wondrr if its why the Airfix launch got delayed? Maybe they were going to produce but now re-consider?
Mr T 4,293
1 hour ago, IT_Man said: Wondrr if its why the Airfix launch got delayed? Maybe they were going to produce but now re-consider? No, the Airfix kit 1/72nd scale, not 1/48th and Airfix have much wider distribution and why should they, it has been advertised and a build shown off in Airfix Model World. Airfix are not going to pull the plug at the last minute when release is due about March, there is too much invested at this stage. Airfix have had to put back a number of releases because of the effect of the pandemic. The kits are produced in India, the decals in Italy and the boxes in the UK. None of these counties is exactly covid free and all that entails.
IT_Man 44
No, I meant maybe if they were also going to do in 1/48 (like Blenheim). But still from ICM is good - the kits have taken a big step forwards in the last few years.

Shorty84 578
I would have bought the Airfix kit in absence of an injected kit in 1/48 but now...bye bye Airfix, hello ICM

trickydicky210 726
ICM really have upped their game Looking more likely that hey will give us a Hampden ahead of Airfix can see The news from the East in Jan 2022 might be more anticipated than Airfix
Beermonster1958 290
10 hours ago, Simon said: Amen to that. Wonder how this will impact on sales of the Airfix Beaufort...will people want to wait for the ICM kit? Probably little or no impact at all. Those who were determined that the Airfix kit was the "wrong" scale might probably have ignored it anyway. Seems to me its "win-win" for the Beaufort fan club with a kit of their pet subject in either scale. John Ps. I wont buy the ICM kit. Its the "wrong" scale!
Harold55 834
This is very exciting and certainly a great addition to the 1/48 scale market! ICM makes great kits, this is very welcome and now they will happily get more of my money
alt-92 3,543
Hmm... knowing ICM's versioning track record, there may be a chance of a DAP Mk.V somewhere down the line
