Back in the Saddle
I built this model last year as part of the Helicopter/Autogyro/SVTOL GB (which finished in mid-October!) but have only just got around to posting an RFI... Sorry! The build thread is here and this is the finished model: A great kit from Airfix, with plenty of OOB detail and enjoyable to build. As ever, any comments or critique are welcome. 👍

scottyphbeta
Excellent build. I'm about to attempt a 1/72 version, what did you use to get the orange as it looks pretty damp close?

Back in the Saddle
Thanks for all the kind comments - glad you like it! @scottyphbeta the yellow on the tail was Humbrol 69 (gloss yellow) with just a dash of Humbrol 18 (gloss orange) to darken it slightly. I can’t remember the exact proportions, but I’m guessing the ratio was about 9:1… On my build thread for this model there are some great reference photos showing the exact colour. I just used these to try and match it as best I could.👍

Andrew Perren
You've done a great job. A suggestion for you (only if you are interested). Next time have a go at replicating the iridescent film on the disco light under the tail. Clear colours or self adhesive foils can be used to great effect. 👍
