Back in the Saddle Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 I built this model last year as part of the Helicopter/Autogyro/SVTOL GB (which finished in mid-October!) but have only just got around to posting an RFI... Sorry! The build thread is here and this is the finished model: A great kit from Airfix, with plenty of OOB detail and enjoyable to build. As ever, any comments or critique are welcome. 👍 48
Gary Brantley Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Great looking Lynx Matt! It's always good to see more helos around here, especially in 1/48! Thanks for sharing her. 🍻 1
PhantomLover Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 That's a beauty! Love that tiger tail... 1

Blade2009 Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Great looking build. I've got a lot of helicopters to build its just finding the space to display them. 1
Orion Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Hello Matt, Airfix should be proud of you. Outstanding finish. Excellent photography. Regards, Orion 1
(ex)Sgtrafman Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 I like that a lot, great looking Lynx you have there. Iain 1
scottyphbeta Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Excellent build. I'm about to attempt a 1/72 version, what did you use to get the orange as it looks pretty damp close? 1
Back in the Saddle Posted January 8, 2021 Author Posted January 8, 2021 Thanks for all the kind comments - glad you like it! @scottyphbeta the yellow on the tail was Humbrol 69 (gloss yellow) with just a dash of Humbrol 18 (gloss orange) to darken it slightly. I can’t remember the exact proportions, but I’m guessing the ratio was about 9:1… On my build thread for this model there are some great reference photos showing the exact colour. I just used these to try and match it as best I could.👍 1
desert falcon Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Glad to see it done - it looks superb !! 1
Andrew Perren Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 You've done a great job. A suggestion for you (only if you are interested). Next time have a go at replicating the iridescent film on the disco light under the tail. Clear colours or self adhesive foils can be used to great effect. 👍
Brigbeale Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 What an absolutely stunning Lynx It’s a pity I can only give one like
