  • Homebee changed the title to 1/32 - Bell AH-1G Cobra by ICM - AH-1G (early) released

Hmmm..... the schemes provided in Homebee's posts are a bit dull IMHO, to be frank. Why no huge, grinning shark-mouths? No big, personalised logos on the engine-cowlings?

Hannants are supposed to be producing decals for all three of the new ICM kits - I will wait and see what they are supplying.

Really looking forward to this kit. It is well-past time that the Revell kit was superseded.

Chris.

PS: The first of these kits is advertised on E-Bay right now....

If I remember correctly, the first flat-canopy version was the AH-1S. I don't think any AH-1S's ever served in Vietnam (but I'm not a Cobra fanatic, so am happy to be corrected on that one).

It doesn't seem flat canopy version is coming. However early Q/S mod will be released for sure (I cant see M65 nose, maybe this will be in resin??). Seems  in 'early' kit are all parts to build 'late' version. I was thinking to use old revell 'squatter swatter' decals as I still have them but they also need some correction... I am also wondering if kit #32065 will have M35 system as we can see it on the picture but no M35 parts present - hope additional M35 frame will be added.

This looks great. Raised rivets are good to see.

I also like the mask outlines in the instructions. If you have a Cricut or Silhouette cutter this makes it very easy.

If this sells then I wonder if we will see other helicopters from ICM. It also marks ICM becoming more ambitious in 1/32 - moving away from single engine WWII fighters.

I hope many years in new "Snake from Nam". Unfortunatelly it a 1/32 not 1/35 (I don't understand why.). It is a big difference beyond 1/35 and 1/32 ?  I prefer a AFV scale and Snake is last type what isn't availiable to Nam collection - or AH-1... (Amt Whisky Cobra & Academy Viper). And Huey Cobra especially is green? elegant and deadly as real King Cobra - for me still lookin' Attack Helo ever... yup, modern twin engines are too nice but Huey is still most beautiful.

Btw exist AH-1 with pin up girl ?

  • Homebee changed the title to 1/32 - Bell AH-1G Cobra by ICM - AH-1G (early) released - AH-1G (late) box art+3D renders, release in July 2021?
  • 2 weeks later...

All of the parts for a late Vietnam era are in the box, except for the M-35 gun system.  The kit has the twin gun turret, right side tail rotor boom, and the anti-Strella mods (upturned exhaust, engine cowling air scoops, and the small half-moon shield above the exhaust) included in this “early” boxing.

Early production review.

I kind of like the duller decal options as not all had sharks mouths etc. Some times it better just to do line bird. Inclusion of a NETTS camo scheme is good.
