Tamiya 1/48 P-47M

Recommended Posts

Hello!

This is my first finished project this year, the very well known and praised Tamiya P-47 1/48 kit. Nothing to add, really, a superb kit. Only some small stencils did not behave well and…disintegrated. C’est la vie!

Since these especific birds didn’t operate for too long, war ending in Europe was months away, I kept the weathering at a minimum, just some dirt from the airfields, but not too many scratches and chipping…

Canopy masks from Eduard, guns from Model Masters and seat belts from scratch.

Hope you enjoy!

Cheers

Great model. But, I think, that checkerboard with fist smashing german airplane on engine cover should be red and white - polish pilot is flying that plane.

Agree! When I saw the decal off from the film, it looked less red than I thought...

Wow, Proving the adage of less is more there. Very subtle and restrained weathering on a super sharp paint finish. Love it!

Matt

thank you!
