Hello!

This is my first finished project this year, the very well known and praised Tamiya P-47 1/48 kit. Nothing to add, really, a superb kit. Only some small stencils did not behave well and…disintegrated. C’est la vie!

Since these especific birds didn’t operate for too long, war ending in Europe was months away, I kept the weathering at a minimum, just some dirt from the airfields, but not too many scratches and chipping…

Canopy masks from Eduard, guns from Model Masters and seat belts from scratch.

Very nicely done. I like the subtle weathering and the engine detail.

Great model. But, I think, that checkerboard with fist smashing german airplane on engine cover should be red and white - polish pilot is flying that plane.

Wow, Proving the adage of less is more there. Very subtle and restrained weathering on a super sharp paint finish. Love it!

Agree! When I saw the decal off from the film, it looked less red than I thought...

QUALITY T Bird!  love it.. especially your restrained weathering.. crisp colour changes and decals look fab Well Done Sir! is it a Gabby Gabinsky 'steed' ?
