... that little paint tin that she is sitting on has put a bit of context to what you're working on here!

So you can understand why I found doing the decals so stressful!

Decal wise, I am working up to a proper "release" (will list on eBay probably) and there will be a couple of options in the box:

Boring!  I think you should do decals for this one, Harry:

Ha ha! Yes, the ambitious limited run decal maker comes upon a stumbling block when it comes to white on colour. There are folks out there somehow maintaining 10+ year old ALPS printers for this. They really need to start manufacturing these again...

Looking terrific, Bill!

I touched up the decals with a bit of blue paint, then airbrushed a coat of Future to seal and protect the finish.

This build is rapidly approaching the finish line . . . only miscellaneous details remain.

First are the landing gear. I masked and painted the kit items, then began adding details specific to the aircraft I trained in.

I used my punch to make a set of disk inserts for the wheels, and gave them a slight convex shape using a nail dotter:

The nose gear strut was missing its scissors, so I added one using styrene strip:

Landing gear all done and ready to be glued in place:

I'm currently working on the propeller. The kit item has the correct general shape but, I felt, needed some refinement. Here is the real thing:

Colors are: metallic gray (almost gun metal) on the front of the blades, matte black on the rear, and white stripes at the tips. (Pay no attention to the flat tire on the starboard side)

I used a fine sanding stick to narrow and thin the blades near the tips. I also thinned the trailing edges. My apologies for the poor photo:

That's it for now. Back to work . . . .

At last! My little Papa Charlie Tampico is finished! I'll be posting a formal RFI in a day or two, in the meanwhile, here are some pics I took this evening.

First, a walk-around:

Now for some detail shots:

I added an exhaust pipe, engine cooling vents, nose gear scissors, and blade antenna on the belly:

I modified the cockpit to match the Tampico I trained in. This is as clear as I could make the transparent piece. Next time, I might try vacu-forming the glazed areas.

My favorite custom decal: the "No Step" marking for people who don't speak French. You can also see the brake line and modified wheel hub I added to the main gear.

Pitot tube and flap actuators were added under the wing:

Landing, taxi, and position lights:

White lights on the wingtips and tail were made from a small drop of UV-activated clear acrylic gel:

Various antenna were added to the rear fuselage and fin:

And, that about wraps it up.

Oh, by the way, did I mention how tiny this plane is?

Many, many thanks to Bangseat Harry for producing this gem of a kit! He did a great job with it and I'm thrilled to finally have a model of the plane I earned my pilot's license in, not too many years ago!

Thanks also to everyone who followed along and gave me encouragement & advice!

Beautiful little model.

I couldn’t help noticing that you have broken the first rule of Flight Club by running this thread....

Rules are meant to be broken 🤪

Speaking of which... While setting up for the pics above, one of my lights tipped over and, of course, fell on my plane. :headbang: Broke an antenna and, more seriously, one of the landing gear. CA came to the rescue but now the landing gear is even more fragile than before

Amazing bit of modelling!

Time for a self-portrait figure in 1.72, I think.

I don't think I could handle the very smallness of this! I did a little Czech Praga Air Baby straight out of the box, and that drove me nuts. Congratulations on getting it done so well 👍

I was trying to say too how tiny this beauty is... With my all respect for your patience and modelling skill...

Thank you. Even I was surprised by the size, when I put it beside my glue bottle. After many hour viewing it through my magnifiers, I was expecting something larger
