Yep, Amazing model.

Well built and the finish is flawless.

I just keep going back over your pics and marvel at your skill.

Great job.

Keeping this this as a reference when I get round to doing my VF-84 Tomcat.

At first I was going to say that it was an actual aircraft but photoshopped to make it look like a model!Β

Β

Β  Flipping stunning work!

Good lord, that is really quite special. The radial weathering around the swing wings is something else. You could swap out the grey background with a photographic one and I bet no-one would be able to tell it wasn't a real aircraft. Great job.

That's some beautiful scale modeling Jos! Β  Great work on a modern classic! :clap2:Β

Β

I redeemed a few Amazon gift cards that I had been hoarding and ordered this very kit; oh, to reach the standard you've set here! Β Β :guitar:

That looks really beautiful. I'm surprised how big the Phoenix missiles are. I mean, I shouldn't be, I know they are big, heavy missiles,Β but I'd never really had a visual clue until I saw the perspective in your first photo.

Β

I believe that the Tomcat could carry 6 of them, but couldn't land with 6 because it would be over the weight limit, so they never carried more than four because it beat dropping a couple of expensive, unused missiles in the ocean each mission. Not sure if that's actually true or just 80s style urban legend.

Jos,

Β

This is an outstanding build.Β

Β

What colours did you use for the exhausts?

Β

Β

Β

Thanks McG,Β for the exhausts I used a whole palette of different metal colors from Alclad II.Β I play with those colors and then I apply some shadow effects with matt black, I always use a piece of masking tape to tape this on a panel line.

Β

Good luck, JosΒ πŸ‘

I have an HB F-14A on the Shelf of Doom; I should cut my losses and just go for the Tamiya.
