Amazon photos.

Recommended Posts

Now that Flickr have raised their price to 7.99 USD per month I think it's time for a change. I have about 9000 photos stored there. Amazon Photos offers unlimited storage (5GB for videos) included in Prime membership which I already have. I'm not sure if it can be used as a hosting site though. Does anyone have experience of the way Amazon Photos work?

I think that Mark @Gorby, has written at length on this subject in FAQs.

I use Amazon photos as online backup - unlike many sites it allows storage of images in raw format, which is a big plus for me.

Last time I checked there was no facility for linking to images - its not a hosting site.

Also while uploading is reasonably quick, downloading large numbers of files is very time consuming. For this reason I woudn't rely on Amazon as your only form of storage, but since I had prime anyway, it seemed worthwhile using as part of my 'belt and braces' backup strategy.

Cheers
