Aquatic Eyes in the Sky...1/48 Vought OS2U Kingfisher, US Navy

Recommended Posts

🙂

Very happy to see you build this, Reini.  I had (well, still have) this kit, bought it when it came out, but I mislaid the instructions almost as soon as I'd opened it and as I rarely finish anything anyway never got round to nipping any PE or plastic from the trees.

The wet blanket in me wants to say the float is too small vice the Edo float, but the contagious enthusiasm says it's just fine for a Vought float, and that's all contingent on whether I'm half-remembering someone else's advice correctly.

The kit's raised panel lines and rivetty bumps are not a drawback on a 1/48 Kingfisher model if you can get zen and work with 'em.

The holes for the support wires (don´t know how to call them correctly) were in slightly wrong positions, filled them and drilled new ones. But then the PE parts didn´t fit anymore so used some plastic rods for new wires.
