I've taken a few more, maybe I should see about getting them uploaded to the Walkaround section?

Thanks John, very much appreciated, though it's always that you find a decent picture after you have completed a model! I think I've seen this car at Goodwood but didn't take any pictures then. That's a very nice display there. Chris.

On the A639 near Rothwell, just passed an immaculate B prefix Lotus Excel. In a metallic dark green that really suited it. Obviously someone's pride and joy.

Mixed bag again today:  two Triumph Herald convertibles  (one BRG/white stripe and one red); a white Stag; a bright green Lamborghini (Aventador, possibly); a yellow, rubber bumper Midget; a red Spifire; a green Mk2 Avenger estate; a late MkIV Sprite and a silver Ferrari 612.

Yesterday, saw a red Sunbeam Alpine series IV or V and some kind of "supercar" roadster/spider - could have been a newer Ferrari, but no idea, sorry. It was dark metallic red and if I saw another I might recognise it, but wouldn't count on it.  New cars don't do a lot for me...  Also passed a van enthusiast's house with an assortment of six Chevy, GMC and Dodge vans parked outside.

In Scunthorpe today I passed an open garage door. Inside, Red, Honda badge, An NSX!

The owner was just about to take it for a run so I hung around and watched (and listened). Nice.

Later, just outside Bawtry, an old Engish white MGA in lovely condition.

Been over to Oulton Park today for my first rally since November 2019 . Weather was great and a quick mooch around my part of the car park came up with these two fine machines ( in my opinion.... )

Mk3 Escort 1.3 Ghia ( bad choice of wheels )

Vauxhall Chevette 2300 HS rally homologation special .

Motorracing event car parks are a good gauge of what is popular among performance car buyers and it would seem Fiesta ST and Toyota Yaris GR Gazoo are the cars of choice atm  .

Not really spot of the day, more of the weekend. But in deepest darkest rural Yorkshire I was passed by a G-reg Polo (the original boxy one) - a while since I saw that.

And then a few more on the way back down to exile - another G reg, this time a Mercedes 190E in light blue and very nice condition (although weirdly badged as a 180E - that's a new one on me I have to admit). Also from Germany, there was a red Audi quattro (later short wheelbase version) while from America there was a lovely Chevy pick-up from circa 1950 with a deep shine, obviously one which is someone's pride and joy.

And finally, one which I'd never heard of and had to look up - an Oldsmobile Alero. As a car, not a lot to write home about - it looks a lot like any other late '90s American coupe. But when I looked it up it turned out to be the last model wearing the Oldsmobile badge, so worth mentioning for the historic aspect.

Saw a Porsche 924 in white today. Looked a little tatty in parts so may be an in-going resto project. Followed it for a little while and it was a bit smokey. Had a private reg so don't know what year it was.

Regards,

Steve

This morning driving North on the A5 near Towcester;

a red Lotus Elan +2, caged and with race numbers,

and a few minutes later a cream coloured Bristol double decker bus ….…

…… from the ‘60s maybe, but I know NOTHING about buses.

They're usually late especially if it's pouring with rain, sometimes early if you're a bit late getting to the bus stop and generally drive around in pairs or more and probably *empty*...

*Going buy the bus service we have over here.....

I went back carspotting again last Sunday. Snapped a white 2009 R8 V8, a very nice unmodified 2000 NB MX-5 Roadster and an LHD 1988 911 G-Body in Cassis Red Metallic. This, however, takes the crown.

I haven't seen a mint, unmodified 458 Italia in the 'iconic' Rosso Corsa 'hero spec' for a while. So to see one gliding effortlessly heading out for a run is something to behold. Absolutely made my Sunday.

This looked like it could have fallen through a wormhole from 1989.

Un-badged 6-series automatic (so might have been merely a 628i).  I don't usually like solid red but it suits the car and sets of the black trim perfectly.
