Impressive! but can you name the Leeds United starting line up for the 1972 FA Cup final against Arsenal?

Can't think why I would, I'm Scots!

But I do know who won the FA cup on 10 May 1980 - ask me why!

If you'd said 1884 and 1885 I'd have known, given your heritage! Or at least who the runners up were!

But 10/5/80? Day you got married...??!!

I even remember the colour ‘Purbeck Grey’ aka beige!

I can remember the colour of most of my Mk1 & 2 Escorts, but can't honestly remember the exact number I had! I can also only remember 3 of the registrations - UNY6G (electric blue with a dark metallic red stripe), PRY34G (sunset red) and PTH226K (maize yellow with black Mexico stripes). There were at least 6 more...!!

At the crossroads in Milton, Stoke-on-Trent found myself behind an old motorcycle with "R69S" on the rear mudguard. I thought, "I recognise that", and indeed ,as it turned left in front of me, I saw the huge crankcase and opposed cylinders I remember from building the Airfix kit at least twice as a kid. The BMWs always fascinated me, particularly as they were a very common sight as police motorcycles in the 70/80s.

Don't know whether that's a "spot" but I've never seen one before. My daughter, to whom I was giving a driving lesson, "helpfully" tried to get me as close behind it as possible so I could have a good look. Noooooo!

I forgot to mention the orange MGB GT V8 yesterday morning; a rubber bumper example that sounded a bit "fluffy" which I hope was because it was still warming up.

Today there was a metallic blue over cream Austin Healey, not sure which one exactly but I could tell that it was a sidescreeen model rather than a Mk.III with wind-up windows. As A-Hs do, it sounded good as it drove past. There was also a Rolls-Royce that I first took to be a Silver Cloud but closer investigation showed it to be an older model, possibly a Silver Dawn but possibly not the standard steel bodywork.  I'd have got a photo but it was outside a garage where it was being worked on and there were too many people about.

Earlier this week I saw the back end of a Seventies Rols Corniche sticking out of a line of parked cars. Nice in a pale Yellow.

This morning in Gainsborough, a T reg TVR Cerbera. In Period Purple! It sounded a little rough, so may have been on a test drive

from one of the garages in that area.

For an eclectic collection of cars on film, go to the tube and search late brake show Projects of the people.

It's Jonny Smith showing two minute clips of projects from around the planet. Some real eye openers on there!

I'm not sure my description can do this one justice: a Granada Scorpio limousine, silver with a black vinyl roof but now sporting multicoloured vertical stripes.  I'll see if I can get a photo tomorrow.

Go on then, why the 1980 cup final?

As keefr22 twigged, wedding day! Also, West Ham won - nothing since, though, 41 year on!

It was a small wedding, so we ended up watching it. My wife is an Essex girl (but not that sort😉), which may explain.

A custom Willys 40 coupe or something like that in metallic blue, frenched, chopped and lowered.  Like something out of a 70s Revellogram catalogue!

Our response to the VW Polo "Harlequin"

Welding completed (New front wings, front panel, bumpers, inner wing repairs, inner "A" panels repaired / replaced, driver's inner sill, rear lower panels both sides, boot floor and inner rear wheel arch repairs, secondhand doors) now MoT'd, taxed and insured and Stepson is now enjoying driving it after owning it for 6 years.

Went in for paint yesterday.

What colour will it be?  Something equally eye catching, I trust?

A big old Plymouth!  Fifties, I would imagine.

Definitely 1950s, anything American made before 1957 won't have quad headlamps because the law didn't allow it.  From 1957 the law changed and cars started to acquire four lamps.  Looking at pictures online, that front-end identifies the car as a 1959 model, the wrap-around ends to the grille seem to be unique to that year of Plymouths.  I'd guess this is a Belvedere.

Christine from the Stephen King novel and John Carpenter (I think) film was a 1958 Plymouth Fury which was a two-door model (although King refers to someone using the rear door in his book).

Today while driving through Leamington I saw a "Ferrari F355" I put the quotes because I definitely got Toyota MR2 vibes from it.

There was also a vintage motorcycle on a trailer, unfortunately I could only say, "a green one" if asked what sort of bike it was.

Going for the original "Solar Gold" - Interior has a pair of Recaro seats fitted, rear seats have been recovered by my mother in law and there's a set of alloys to go on as well.

Aha - one of those. Sometimes see them for sale on Autotrader or EBay as simply ridiculous sums. No way am I doing that to mine. I think it looks good as it is!

Thanks for the information.   I can't recall seeing one of these before - certainly not in rural Kent!
