My latest 'wheels' is a KIA XCeed.

It's more of a crossover than an SUV, but it's not a bad load-lugger for the tip, and you do have an elevated driving position.

It wouldn't handle muddy fields well though.

Cheers,

Alan.

Had one of those last year as a loan when my Rio went in for a repair. Was a 1.4 auto 1st Edition. Lovely motor and was very tempted to trade the Rio in for one but ended up getting a Hyundai Kona instead as my mate got me a good deal on one. Xceed Is still a future contender though 😉

I always preferred the term Chelsea Tractor myself 😀

Fair enough but "Chelsea Tractor" doesn't let you use the acronym SUV...

... - can you imagine someone chucking 4 bales of hay in the back and driving it through the mud up to the top field to keep the livestock fed ? ...

A couple of years ago I saw a bloke loading a load of timber and bags of sand into the boot of his DB9 at B&Q. So never say never... although I won't deny it is unlikely. 😆

Saw a Mustang GT convertable yesterday. Left hand drive an an 07 plate. Looked and sounded lovely. Even mrs fatfingers was impressed with it!

A few interesting ones this afternoon.  On the Fosse Way, a Caterham 7, a VW Golf GTi Mk2, an X-reg MkI Scirocco and a 1967 (E) Mercedes SL soft top.  In Leamington, a black Dodge Challenger SRT8 and some kind of newish dark blue Ferrari (don't ask me), then a Lamborghini Murcielago near Coventry.

I wanted to take some photos from a classic car show this evening, but the weather had other ideas. Before the rain frightened everyone away there was a good turnout. Standout cars included a Bentley S1 convertible, a Jensen Interceptor, three different TVRs, and a 1950s Buick 8.

There is something so completely lacking in taste about that Porsche that you almost have to admire it. Note the use of the word 'almost'...

Yet another example of more money than sense - both to buy something like that and to deck it out thusly!

Now that is hideous . What was the owner thinking ? I would say more , but we're not allowed to use that sort of language on Britmodeller.

Roughly where I saw the hideous Roller last week, and at the same timing, yesterday it was the turn of a purple Lambourghini. Not my cup of tea but I can understand why people like them. (Unlike the Roller.)😀

Oh good grief....

Ye Gods!  Just goes to show that, in many circumstances, money and taste are mutually exclusive.

No pics because it was spotted whilst driving along a dual carriageway, at a range of about 4 feet:-

Ford Focus coupe cabriolet (Bertone design based on front wing badges). I have never seen one of those before.

I thought they were Pininfarina?

You're right, but I was scanning at very close range. It's still true that, in terms of actual spots, this model is rarer than a Ferrari Dino or Testarossa(1984) for me.

Two retro-executive cars spotted on the way home from work today; a Mercedes-Benz W124, followed (although not immediately) by a BMW E28 5-series.

There was also a white, classic Mini that I spotted at lunchtime, looking and sounding well.

Ok a different type of ‘vehicle’ a Class 37 Diesel engine. Sitting in my car at Chester Racecourse waiting for my second jab and I heard a low rumbling and it majestically progressed past me. Not seen one of those in years!

I remember seeing those hauling West Highland (and C&O) services in the mid to late 1970s.

Nice, one of only two railway locos I've driven (trundling the length of the platform at Cheltenham Racecourse station on the Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway).

My sightings today were a red Austin Healey 3000 and a metallic grey, G-reg Ford Escort Mk.IV Estate (my dad had an Orion of the same age and colour).  I'd hazard a guess that there are more Healey 3000s on the road now than there are Mk.IV Escorts.
