Tiger 142 Tunisia 1:35

Recommended Posts

Hello together!

This is my first post here on Britmodeller.

As a regular visitor, I would like to present my model on the current Tiger theme.

It is based on the kit from RFM, supplemented with accessories from Aber, Voyager PE and self-built parts.
Painting in acrylic and oil, decals from Archer.

Maybe not 100% historical, but built with a lot of fun.

A great help was Tiger1. Info!
Thank you for the very good information.

I hope you like the cat, a vignette is also planned in the future...

Well, That’s coming along nicely !!

Love the little details you’re adding to the RFM kit.

Feel free to join the “other” Tiger, unofficial group build in this section, if you’d like to.

And welcome to the Forum....

Lee. ;)

First of all, a Happy New Year!

Thanks to Lee and Darryl for the nice comments.

Today I would like to show the painting and weathering.

The final steps with pigments etc. is done on the vignette, because everything should be colour-coordinated.

I am currently collecting all the necessary parts for the Africa scene.

When I started modelling, Verlinden was one of my gods.

Maybe old school today, but still one of the best inspirations.

Sorry, probably posted a bit too quickly 😉

Ok, I'll start with the primer.

next steps are oil dots, washes, filters and chipping

As you can see, the ageing is somewhat exaggerated.
After dusting, however, this effect is softened again.

Next time I will show the finished model, followed by the vignette.

Great work, excellent painting and weathering techniques on display, some really  nice chipping too.

Sure this will look excellent when done, looking forward to it.

Cheers

XLNT!

Taking notes from your step by step and hope to learn something...

Need to ask, those side skirts, are they your own making?

Thank You for sharing!

Thanks to Ed and Vytautas for the nice comments!

@ Zack
The side skirts are from the PE set 35799 from Voyager.

The parts from RFM are much too thick and also the position of the brackets do not match the original.
The set also includes these with assembly instructions for the different angles.
I also used screws from Masterclub.

What is also good to use are the grids for the engine deck.
The RFM PE parts are too flat and do not dent well for a used look.

Happy modelling and THX!
